Seriously, I don't understand the chant skills. It seems like you either waste one turn preparing a chant, or you use quick-chant but then you instead get stuck with certain chants on automatic activation, making your spells less flexible.
How do they work, and are they really worth the precious skill points?

Re: Chant skills - good or bad?
Quick Chant doesn't make chants automatically used, what it does is make it that when you use a Chant your turn doesn't end, allowing you to use a Chant and a spell on the same turn. The only downside to Quick Chant is the fact that it increases TP costs.
This skill is must have (Unless you're using Clever Strike), as its very difficult for Warlock to compete with other damage dealers otherwise. The chant skills themselves are very powerful and unless you're spamming Clever Strike, they're the bread and butter of any Warlock build, with Elemancers using Focus Chant + an AoE spell and Omnimancers using Spread Chant for... basically everything but Altar. That said, I actually wouldn't recommend investing in them until the 3rd strata.
