It's rare to find people who notice how bad heart-surgery is. It costs a lot, and can kill you faster than most diseases. Heart-surgery is something to go through when you're already fucked anyway.

Abortions can mess women up a lot, especially psychiactrically (and socially, though that's rather meta). It's a pretty bad thing. Pregnancy isn't that much better (though fairly variable), and labour is flying fucking hell, kick in the head dangerous.
Sometimes that humans have an unusually high risk, high reward style of procreation isn't appreciated enough. Having a child is a guaranteed burden, a sizeable risk of failure, some risk of uncompensated loss, and a decent to small chance for a big profit in the near-ish to distant future.
