I disagree. They are expensive now, but when they are mass produced they will become cheaper. Just like cars were expensive, DVD players were expensive, PCs were expensive. As soon as things stop becoming bespoke and are shipped off to China to be made it'll become cheaper.

Cheaper and safer. Public transport is not only inconvenient, nasty and public but it's not always safe either.
