I want to have variety, so I'm trying to compare attack, defense, strategy, healing and stat increase.

EO1 Medics are capable of being in the front row. They have decent defense, and can deal damage with Caduceus and Atk Up. This variant build is called a Battle Medic.

Front: Kristoph (Protector) / Konrad (Dark Hunter)
Back: Leo (Alchemist) / Coton (Medic) / Robert (Troubadour)

I retired them at level 70 and took the same (I just love them) since their skills were really helpful in my opinion: Binding Skills (Dark Hunter, who is fond of leather), Buffing Skills (Troubadour), Caduceus (Medic). Right now all of them are at level 23.

The advice I read about team formations were useful but they are not the only way to complete the game fortunately (there are so many ways to do it, and the satisfaction is so high with a team built according to your tastes and needs). Oh dear I'm off-topic ^^"

That's what I like about the Etrian Odyssey series. You can make your own guild as you like and still beat the game. What I dislike about the series is that it doesn't work anymore for the post-game content. Then you're practically forced to have a certain party in order to survive.
