Kubiuchi won't trigger on Golem

It's just luck.

I don't know at what point of the game you are, but having a Ronin means you are at the 3rd stratum...I suggest you farm the Royalant and get the Rare Drop (Ant's Jaw) and unlock the Hachi which gives your Ronin a +15 LUC and then well...I don't know, try leveling up a bit more (maybe level gaps also influence the chance of success).

Otherwise I think you'll have to go for Dark Hunter's Climax which has 100% of success of OHKO (you have to drop the Golem's health at 20% though)

EDIT: Yeah, it's a just a matter of luck, I just tried with my Lv32 Ronin and after 10 turns, it triggered.

Is Hachi a Ronin skill? You activate it and it gives you a bonus to your luck?

I am not sure if Luck plays a part in it, at least the skill, as from reading on GF the factors are your Kubichi skill, your weapon and maybe level. But I heard of others doing it in their 20's. However, my weapon was not as strong as theirs, so maybe that's it.

And yes, I have gotten to the 3rd Stratum, I am actually a couple floors into the 4th (floor 17). My other characters are in their high 40's.

Maybe I'll level some more to give myself some more TP. I only have 49 right now for my Ronin. And also hopefully to give him a better chance for it to trigger. I really don't want to have to start up a Hexer if I don't have to. I only really started up a Ronin just to get the Statue Arm and the "To Meet a Blademaster..." quest.

Now, you can have it trigger with the Golem at full, or almost full, HP's, right? It doesn't have to be low like with the Climax skill?

If it involves collecting rare drops, I'd say Hachi is a weapon. And a fairly nice one at that.

As for Golem, it has a 10% Death Modifier so Kubiuchi, maxed out, has a 6% chance. You won't be able to stack enough LUC to make Kubiuchi anything better than about a 6% chance either.

Gah, why waste your time! The Hachi is very expensive, and selling the Statue Arm only means more another expensive weapon(an axe in this case).
You're much better off waiting until later in the game to do this. You can get max climax on a Dark Hunter(shouldn't be very hard to get a roughly L20 DH) and kill it much, much, MUCH easier.
