Differences in European version
Is anyone else playing the European version of EO1? Or am I the only one who was desperate enough to try it to pay €45 for it?
Other than the price (double that of the USA version ), what are the differences you've found?
So far the only thing I've noticed is that the Troubadour class is called Bard in this version. I was kinda disappointed by that. It feels dumbed down. I mean, instead of a cool Troubadour, I got a spoony Bard It doesn't make sense from a cultural POV either. I mean, 'bard' is a Celtic word, right? And 'troubadour' is of French origin, so for the European version of the game it would actually make more sense to call the class Troubadour than for the North-American version.
Is that Atlus developer/PR guy still answering questions over in the EO2 section? I'd like to know what motivated this change, and what else has been altered.

I'm tempted to bug Archaic into seeing if he'll get the game (he's European) and seeing the differences, but he never got far in the first game. LOL.
Kimiko - in answer to your question, I think Nich still might be answering questions, however, he wouldn't know the answer to yours. He works for AtlusUSA and has no connection to things being brought over to Europe.
By the way - welcome to the both of you! ^_^ I'm glad to have some more EURO friends here. *Sigh* Let's just hope you guys get the second game in a more timely fashion than the first one.

Hey Maxine. Thanks for the welcome
I wouldn't buy the European version if I already had the NAmerican one just to see the differences. It costs €45 here at the moment. You could import two other games from the USA for that price. I wouldn't have spent that much either, but I'd been waiting for months already for even a second-hand copy of EO1.
Do you think EO2 will sell out as quickly? I'd better order a copy soon then before stocks run out.
