Cool cause I really dont do much status stuff. I plan on having to groups to try out classes, but I really just like good ol reliable damage dealers.

Yeah Medicine Man, they are. They have great speed as well but I heard that the Survivalists got nerfed really badly in EO II. The thing is though if it works for you then go for it. But the Survivalist can probably take more hits than a Gunner and they're quicker. But the Gunner still has that piercing effect with their guns like a Survivalist and they can deal elemental damage, bind the enemy, and their Force Skill is fantastic. But like I said above: if you like having a Survivalist and if it works well for you then go for it.
