I can remember characters easily from any story that I read and can retain similar information for movies - but I can't even remember friends' names who I've known for years or some historic character I learned about in school

Hah! I'm glad I'm not the only 30+ person. :) I love love love RPG games. My brother got me hooked on Wizardry, Bard's Tale, and the AD&D comp games. Of course, I only ever completed Gateway to the Savage Frontier. That's why I'm so excited to have gotten the Town Crown in EO! The only other DS game I completed was Orcs & Elves. Still to finish are Phantom Hourglass and FFIII. Actually, I was afraid to by EO thinking it would be wicked ass hard. It wasn't that bad. The 5th Stratum boss was actually fairly easy. Once I died enough against Primevil, he wasn't too bad either. Even scale hunting was a breeze, but I'm sure have Scavenge 10 on my alchemist helped that! I think EOII will be a breeze with the easier resting and retiring.
