Helldras have that nasty special move that deals a ton of damage to the party. I don't think you would've stood a good chance against them without a Protector or a way to bind it's head... at any rate I didn't. I just ignored them, they're far more trouble than they're worth.

They have 5000 HP and resist fire and slashing (I think) if you want give them a shot at any rate. Might be easier since you've beaten the Overlord... maybe.
