Ronin only have decent defense once you go out of your way to get the Hihiirokane armor set, which grants insane boosts, same with the Amanohahagiri sword, which is easily the most broken weapon ever.

I've been putting my Ronin's skill points into Vit up and HP up and that's worked decently for me. She still can't take the blows like my Protector or Landsknecht, but I just have to make sure to keep the Medic on her in FOE battles.

Does anyone know the success rate for 2-hit in EOII? I'm going to max it out regardless.

I like the axe skills but I don't know if I want to dump 8 points into the sword category so early for something I am probably not going to use.
