Fandom: POKEMON BECAUSE EXCITEMENT!

More or less the first time I draw something out of hype. Now if only I could be this excited about drawing work samples.

It's gonna be awesome to see the new Megas, though I'm more of a Sceptile fan. Hopefully the next updates will showcase at least one of them.

While I have some access to the internet, here's like... work samples I did. I only really like the second one though, even if the ground is a bit messy for my liking, but it was made with very little time left.

Decided to try and be part of a Pokémon OCT (Original Character Tournament):



It was a long time I drew anything outside of class, it feels weird.

Also, the info I wrote for them, it's pretty basic.

I never updated about that OCT I entered.

Her parents (NPCs) plus a misc picture I drew after I finished my round 0 entry:


Round 0 - Illustrate your character get the invitation and how they get to the island. Drawn in about 1 week. (5 pages)


Round 1 - 1v1 battle against . Drawn in about 2 weeks with LOTS of stress. Man, my wrists hurt from this. (9 pages)


Also, extra that just happened based on page 6 from round 1 when I was really damn tired and I thought it was so funny I kept laughing about it when I tried to go to sleep.

Requested on dA some Pokemon for the sake of practicing and these are the final results (there was no actual request for a Mega Mawile, but I felt like it would be silly to exclude it)


And I lost round 1 in the OCT, but they are providing plot for those who lost (and other NPCs) to still participate, and to be honest, I guess it was for the best that I lost, because the stuff that is happening in round 2 is pretty much a result of my opponent's entry. Basically the entire island have lost their energy because of strong attacks used in round 1 that damages several generators causing them to go into back-up, but something has happened (hordes of Joltiks and Galvantulas are nesting at the generators, eating all the electricity) and all energy is out, so the entire island is in darkness now. While still fighting contestants have to fight in the dark, everyone else can work with getting the island running again.

In the meanwhile, I just drew my character in some new outfits, the last one I'll be using in this "round 2" and you might recognize the colour palette being familiar.

i think officially Articuno has red eyes and a grey beak? Thats how I see it most commonly

But games go from mostly white, to mostly blue, to more detailed colouring.

Yeah, Articuno's a weird case. There are so many instances of it having a grey beak but also a blue beak. Official art, battle and overworld sprite, mugshots... But yeah, I guess the grey beak is more common than the blue one.

The white and blue versions were also just simpler, and easier to work with. Articuno is just a product.

Nobody originally expected Pokemon to be taken very seriously. Where did the elephants go? Doesn't matter. Where is America? What, do you mean Unova? No, shut up though. It's fine.

Update: The Apollo Metropolis side round comic is still ongoing, posted page 4 today, it might be about... 7 or 8 pages? The official round 2 ends in 10 hours (still some people haven't posted anything and it annoys me to no end).

In the meanwhile I applied for a new OCT, there's still only three contestants though, so it's a shame. Basically Arceus goes Primal and plans to eradicate all humans and it's charging its ultimate attack but needs lackeys to stop people from stopping him. Needless to say I'm currently the only lackey.
