EO3 Release Date Announced!

Today was a good day for EO fans to be an Atlus Faithful. If you checked your e-mail boxes, you received an e-mail of a beautiful ad (seen to the right) announcing EO3 and its long awaited release date.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2010!!

In addition to the spectacular news, the official Etrian Odyssey 3 website has also launched and I'm sure we can expect almost-weekly updates from them.

EO3 Approximate Release Date: Fall

According to Zachary, who e-mailed me (thank you!), the Nintendo Power magazine article lists more of the same. However, there was one new small bit of news: an ambiguous release date set for this Fall. Still... it's something more than we had before.

Again, I'll be picking the magazine up this Wednesday. I will type up the article myself (but please do not expect scans... not for a few months).

Just some more info regarding the Nintendo Power magazine with the Etrian Odyssey III article: It has been reported the magazine will go on sale June 8th.

No further news has been announced by AtlusUSA, including release date and such. Apart from the Twitter announcement, AtlusUSA is still obviously keeping the game under wraps.

Also: Yes, we will be typing up the article - however we will NOT be providing scans for a loooong while so that way we are not stepping on any NP toes. Seriously, go out and get your own!

EO3 Localization Confirmed!

It seems that this announcement comes after Nintendo Power placed up a pdf file of some pages to build up hype for its July edition - with the Etrian Odyssey 3 article listed.

Skill trees and final videos

A few minor changes to the website. I decided to invert the game order. In short, even I got tired of having to scroll allll the way down just to get to the EO3 section, which is small considering.

Anyways, Zaraf has released Skill Trees of some of the classes. You can find them on the Class Skill Trees page. They are hotlinked (with permission) from Zaraf's own server. This is so that if he updates the images with some minor change, it will appear without waiting for us.

And last but not least, we have uploaded the final six gameplay videos released on the Official Etrian Odyssey 3 website. Be sure to check them out on our Youtube Channel.

Final Wallpaper and New Unlockables

So, this is it. The final update to the Official Etrian Odyssey 3 website. *Sniffle* On Thursday of this week, the game will be released to stores all over Japan... and then... begins our wait... and the crucial life or death situation.

Import or Wait?

Wait... for what I feel is the almost inevitable release of this game state-side. Well, let's get on with this, shall we. The website actually dropped something on us today.

First, the obvious: the final wallpaper has been released, featuring many of the FOEs that are due to be the doom of adventurers everywhere. - Click here to view them.

And finally, I would like to direct you to this page of the website: System Information #6. The first page is quite interesting as it appears to feature two unlockable classes! Is this true? I have no idea. I can't read Japanese! And even more mysterious than this, the second page which features a single image that, at first glance, appears like many of the other screenshots we've seen, except that there are three golden crowns beside the character's level at the top of the image.

What is this about?! I have no clue. As soon as I learn something, you guys will be informed, I promise.

... And... that's it. Nothing more for now. Remember, feel free to join us over at the forums. We have an EO3 exclusive boards where anyone is free to discuss the game. And have no fear. The Admins and our Moderators will be out in full force to make sure that those who have imported the game will NOT be spoiling the game for anyone else. We have a spoiler-tag system put in place and it will be implemented!

New wallpapers and toggle art released!

The Official Etrian Odyssey 3 website has just released the final three wallpapers in their class set - which will probably conclude the wallpapers unless they have something else hidden up their sleeves for us.

You can view these three wallpapers in our image gallery under three different sizes for each one. - Click here to view them.

Also released on the website, the toggle/secondary artwork for the final five classes. Definitely worth a look.

For those who don't know are just showing up. Etrian Odyssey III / Sekaiju no Meikyu 3 is being released in Japan next Thursday. There is still no news yet if the game is coming over here.

GameFaqs members Zaraf and Scy have also made it known on our forums tha they will definitely be picking this game up and that we can all look forward to their valuable maps when they are released, which will not only be featured over on the GameFaqs site but on our site here as well.

Gah!! So excited! No, saddly, I will not be importing, unless the game is really not going to be released over here. I will be holding out. ... I'm going to bust out crying when they start ranting about the game, I just know it. *Sigh*

New ItL EO Youtube Account!

So, let's just jump right into the news, then. First, let's start with EO3/SQ3 due to premiere in Japan in less than a month (4.1.10).

Not only does the Official Etrian Odyssey 3 website have the first five characters' color-change portraits up, but it also has a very fun Guild/Class Generator. Obviously it's in Japanese, but it's pretty easy to follow. The first question is asking you for your guild name. The next one is asking you for the name of your ship. After that, it is simple class and image selection. We've already been showing ours off at the forums. In case you are interested, my generated image is located beneath the cut.

Next, we have three new soundtracks that have been added on the website. You can grab them off our Mp3 page in mp3 format.

We also have five new wallpapers grabbed off of the main site. Each of the five wallpapers come in three different sizes. - Click here to view them.

And finally, last but not least, a special announcement. ItL now has its own Youtube channel. Since Nyleveia.com seems to have gotten busy with other things and stopped updating with EO3 videos, I took it upon myself to make an attempt. After I had learned, I went further and just decided to make it the (un)official fan EO Youtube Channel. I'm going to favorite a bunch of EO vids, post up what I have, and it's just generally going to be a lot of fun.

And now, for my generated class. Uhh... yeah... gender imbalance... But, you know, I honestly dunno if when I get the game this is what I will go with for my main party. Awww, so many choices, so little time. <3

My guild's name is Labeira once again and the Princess will be the main character. She wants to resurrect the legendary guild who she has read about in all her history books. Tired of the royal life, she decides to get her own guild together and have her own adventures.

I'm actually thinking that whatever name I give her it will be the name of the ship because, honestly, she is very egotistical.

SQ3 portraits now with color change!

Reported by Nyleveia.com, the newest edition of Famitsu had even more Etrian Odyssey III information.

It seems that, while there are the four default portraits of all the classes, when selecting a portrait you are also able to use a toggle to change the color palette of those four portraits giving you four more to choose from. That brings the total of forty different portraits straight up to eighty! You can see an example of the color change for the Prince/Princess class in this full page scan.

And in the newest blog entry on the Official Etrian Odyssey 3 Developers Blog, battle designer Kakuichi mentions several technical changes they have made to the way battles work. Some of these include: allowing attacks to hit the whole party at one time, making the active attacker more obvious, and finally making each attack type (bash, pierce, and slash) more distinctive. - These changes have been added to our SQ3 List of Gameplay Changes.

And last, but not least, if you visit our forum and go to select an avatar from our gallery, you will notice that there is a new menu for "Third Game" that gives you avatars for all of the forty default character portraits in the game. You can also find them here. Enjoy!!

After a restless night, you guys lucked out. I had nothing better to do on my computer than to sit and read all of the articles I had missed on Nyleveia.com and to compose the page that I've been working on for several months now.

I still do not think it is complete and that I'm missing a bunch of things but at least now this is up and I can update it quickly (which will help since I've got tests and projects coming up in my classes these next weeks). Here's to HOPING I can do a better updating job.

Without further ado: A List of Gameplay Changes in Etrian Odyssey III.

You know, we really shouldn't be calling it EO3 just yet since it's not been slated for release in America (yet). SQ3 is really the proper abbreviation. *Sigh* But, who's paying attention, I guess.

So, here we go. I apologize first for my obscure absence which I'm sorry to say doesn't look like the matter will improve any time soon. However, I will do the best I can.

For everyone's patience, I've got a special treat. On the Official Etrian Odyssey 3 website five soundtracks were released preview some of the sounds in the game. Now, down to business. I've added ninety one (yes, that's 91) images to the gallery. All albums in the Sekaiju no Meikyu 3 Gallery have been updated.

Before I move along, I would like to point all of you towards Nyleveia.com, the creator of many of the following images, and so far my own #1 stop for EO news (when I've had time to read it). All of the images that I have taken from their website are marked with a link to their site.

Let me break it down for you in a better manner. In the Screenshots gallery we have: 12 new images in the General Screenshots album and 8 new images in the Magazine Clippings album. - Click here to view them.

In the Official Artwork gallery we have: 1 new Boxart, 41 new Character artwork, 3 Enemies, 10 Miscellaneous, and 4 new Scenes. - Click here to view them.

I hope to rectify this issue in this and future posts and also would like to remind viewers: I am not a gaming journalist - not yet (maybe one day). None of this news comes from me. I simply gather and collect and re-post it here. No, I'm not originator of any of this information. My sincerest apologies to anyone that may have felt wronged.

Even more screens and mag clippings

So we just keep getting more and more information as time goes on. Sorry I've not been able to be on top of it as I should have. I got a cold last week and it's just sucked up all my motivation to do anything. However, tonight I promise to have a listing up of all the current facts we know about this new upcoming SQ3 game.

(Sorry, still no news yet from Atlus USA about whether or not they are bringing this over. Probably won't get any news until after the game is out in Japan, if the past games are anything to go by.)

Ok, I've went through the internet and collected all of the current media that has been placed up so far. Tomorrow or the next day (since I've got finals) I'll work on getting up the data that has been posted.

Etrian Odyssey 3 Trailer Released

As was mentioned earlier, Etrian Odyssey 3 has now been officially confirmed by the Japanese and developing branch of Atlus.

Today the official trailer has become available, which you will be able to see after the cut.
