Ask Atlus Session #2!

I'm sure you guys remember that way back in year of '08, shortly before the release of Etrian Odyssey II, IntotheLabyrinth.net held a special "Ask Atlus Session" with Project Lead Nich Maragos.

With Etrian Odyssey III upcoming, ItL has been hard at work putting together another Ask Atlus Session for you guys! This time, however, the format is a little different due to how busy Atlus is, but a nice trade-off: the collective staff of Etrian Odyssey III will be working on our questions. And instead of an Atlus employee visiting our forums, we are going to be sending them a list of questions!

So, it's simple. From now until Tuesday night of next week, we will be taking your question submissions. Not only can they be submitted on the forums located at: http://www.intothelabyrinth.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1219, but you can also send any and all your questions to my personal e-mail account: magicfox64@hotmail.com.

From them, the Mods and myself will be sifting through all of the questions and submitting our top favorite 25 - or if there are some really good questions, we will increase the amount to include all of them.

Please keep in mind, questions that can be looked up and/or are common knowledge by now will not be submitted. Also, there may be a list of questions that we decide to "compress" (for example: all questions about class names). Also please keep your questions clean and strictly Etrian Odyssey III related. And finally, please realize that these questions are only directed toward "Atlus USA". While they may have some limited knowledge about Atlus Japan, remember that there may be some questions that we will not submit simply because we do not feel it is within scope of their knowledge.

Then on Wednesday 22nd we will submit the list of questions and eagerly await our answers from the hard working folks at Atlus.

UPDATED! Weekend Site Clean-up

Update:

So, I blame the holidays, but seriously, this turned into a much bigger project than I originally anticipated. I will be working on it throughout the week. Most of it is off-site work so far, so do not expect anything serious.

So, to be quite honest, I'm a student for webdesign and development. I'm going through the classes at the moment and there's a lot that I'm learning. When I made ItL it was before I even started these classes.

In addition to this, I had JUST learned CSS. So, it's not like I was actually GOOD at it, yet. I've gotten better since then, though I will not say that I know everything (I'm STILL a student).

Still, the purpose of this rather small, self-analyzing post is to tell you all that this weekend I will be cleaning codes up. Not just codes but a lot of trash I see sitting on my server. Random things and such. I'm going to be doing a little summer cleaning.

Hopefully it will be nothing that you guys notice. However, in the odd event that something happens I wanted to give you all a warning: I'm editting my codes - anything can happen. Most of it will be done off-line, but in the event that something strange occurs with the site, please do not fret. We will be back up in working condition by Monday, even if I have to upload a back-up.

So, you get that? This weekend the site should NOT go down, but if it does, it will be down the entire weekend and will return Monday. The forums will not be touched, so please feel free to continue posting and enjoying yourself.

More progress into treasure locations

And I've now completed Stratum 4 of the Item Point, Treasure, and Camp Site Locations page. In addition to this, I've also corrected a few errors that I noticed from my last load up. My apologies for those and any inconvenience caused.

Now, the next part of this update is to remind everyone about the IntotheLabyrinth.net Youtube Channel. Starting tomorrow I plan on scouring youtube to collect any EO videos any to place them into playlists. This will include soundtrack videos as well as walkthroughs and boss battles. There's a lot of great stuff out there!

Screens, Wallpapers, and a Video

So, the Official Etrian Odyssey 3 website went live last week, and on it was a few screenshots, nothing exciting to motivate me. Yesterday, however, the website updated with even more screenshots, and four wallpapers. Before that, there was also a video released. Ok, now I'm pumped!

Four wallpapers have been added, all representing the Princess/Prince class. There come in two sizes: 1024x768 and 1280x1024. - Click here to view them

In addition to this, I also managed to find a REALLY nice full quality version of the logo, added up in both jpg and png formats. - Click here to view them

EO3 Release Date Announced!

Today was a good day for EO fans to be an Atlus Faithful. If you checked your e-mail boxes, you received an e-mail of a beautiful ad (seen to the right) announcing EO3 and its long awaited release date.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2010!!

In addition to the spectacular news, the official Etrian Odyssey 3 website has also launched and I'm sure we can expect almost-weekly updates from them.

Zaraf and Negzee's Skill Simulator

In case you are not a GameFaqs frequenter and/or you are new to the Etrian Odyssey series, let me give a little background information. Zaraf is the guy on GameFaqs who is responsible for making all of the fabulous and beautiful maps we have for the games. He has been at it since the first game, and it is usually a big collaborative effort.

This project, however, was kept underwraps for a while after Zaraf posted a strange message on the ItL forums asking for a javascript coder and hired up Negzee, one of our forum frequenters. If you have been checking the forums here or at GF, you would know that he about a week ago he finally announced what he had been working on: a Skill Simulator for Etrian Odyssey 3.

ItL is now the proud host of this wonderful project. I'm very honored to be hosting it since it is not something he can place up on GameFaqs. It's a very beautiful program. All of the controls and how-to's are listed on the intro page, so be sure to read it. They put some tremendous time and effort into it and it just looks fantastic.

I can't wait for the game to come over to our shores so I will be able to use it. It will be updated then as necessary. Check back with us here in the future and we'll announce any updates or changes he has made.

More EO3 map pieces done

So, I've got the third stratum all chopped up into little map pieces and I have the Item Point, Treasure, and Camp Site Locations guide updated with them.

I'm in such a hurry to get these done before something comes up in my life. Putting the guides together and filling in blanks will make my life so much easier in the future.

Also: I picked up the new article in Nintendo Power. Really isn't very much to it. I'll type it up later - sometime late tomorrow - and throw it up. Seriously, it was kind of a let down to someone who already knew about the game and its features. It's definitely just an article geared for the target audience of semi-ignorant Nintendo players and not rabid EO fans XD . As for english screenshots. There's like... five of them? Not much. I'm sure we'll be seeing MUCH much more though in the future when the lock on Atlus USA starts peeling away. Still no sign of an official website yet.

Edit: Err... all of my avatars as of late seem to be female. Haha, my apologies. I promise, my next post avatar will be male. But... they are just so cute~

EO3 Approximate Release Date: Fall

According to Zachary, who e-mailed me (thank you!), the Nintendo Power magazine article lists more of the same. However, there was one new small bit of news: an ambiguous release date set for this Fall. Still... it's something more than we had before.

Again, I'll be picking the magazine up this Wednesday. I will type up the article myself (but please do not expect scans... not for a few months).

EOIII Treasure guide updated

Fwoooosh~ already got a second update up for the same guide. The Item Points, Treasure, and Camp Locations guide has been updated to include Stratum 2! Hopefully this week I'll be able to get even more work done.

REMEMBER: The July edition of Nintendo Power is supposed to be put out on shelves tomorrow. Be sure to pick it up for the Etrian Odyssey III article, which will hopefully have some more news and information for us. Or at least open the flood gates on Atlus USA.

I will be picking my copy up this Wednesday when I go out, so if you have any news before then: please don't hesitate to contact me and tell me!

Treasure guide for Etrian Odyssey III

So, I spent all morning chopping up Zaraf's maps for the first stratum of the third game, and I've now completed the guide for the first stratum. The guide is: Item Points, Treasure, and Camp Locations. This is for those gamers who need a little help but don't want to look at the full map for fear of over-spoiling.

Well... to be honest, though, there's not much real information on it. Apart from coordinates there's no other information such as the rewards from chests and item points. Please, if you have this information, feel free to provide it. If now, we'll wait on the english game and/or until Zaraf updates his guides.

He did have some information on the first map in terms of items, but they were in Japanese.

Nintendo Power's EO3 article

Just some more info regarding the Nintendo Power magazine with the Etrian Odyssey III article: It has been reported the magazine will go on sale June 8th.

No further news has been announced by AtlusUSA, including release date and such. Apart from the Twitter announcement, AtlusUSA is still obviously keeping the game under wraps.

Also: Yes, we will be typing up the article - however we will NOT be providing scans for a loooong while so that way we are not stepping on any NP toes. Seriously, go out and get your own!

Skill trees and final videos

A few minor changes to the website. I decided to invert the game order. In short, even I got tired of having to scroll allll the way down just to get to the EO3 section, which is small considering.

Anyways, Zaraf has released Skill Trees of some of the classes. You can find them on the Class Skill Trees page. They are hotlinked (with permission) from Zaraf's own server. This is so that if he updates the images with some minor change, it will appear without waiting for us.

And last but not least, we have uploaded the final six gameplay videos released on the Official Etrian Odyssey 3 website. Be sure to check them out on our Youtube Channel.

Final Wallpaper and New Unlockables

So, this is it. The final update to the Official Etrian Odyssey 3 website. *Sniffle* On Thursday of this week, the game will be released to stores all over Japan... and then... begins our wait... and the crucial life or death situation.

Import or Wait?

Wait... for what I feel is the almost inevitable release of this game state-side. Well, let's get on with this, shall we. The website actually dropped something on us today.

First, the obvious: the final wallpaper has been released, featuring many of the FOEs that are due to be the doom of adventurers everywhere. - Click here to view them.

And finally, I would like to direct you to this page of the website: System Information #6. The first page is quite interesting as it appears to feature two unlockable classes! Is this true? I have no idea. I can't read Japanese! And even more mysterious than this, the second page which features a single image that, at first glance, appears like many of the other screenshots we've seen, except that there are three golden crowns beside the character's level at the top of the image.

What is this about?! I have no clue. As soon as I learn something, you guys will be informed, I promise.

... And... that's it. Nothing more for now. Remember, feel free to join us over at the forums. We have an EO3 exclusive boards where anyone is free to discuss the game. And have no fear. The Admins and our Moderators will be out in full force to make sure that those who have imported the game will NOT be spoiling the game for anyone else. We have a spoiler-tag system put in place and it will be implemented!
