A new video was released today on the Atlus JPN YouTube channel. Obviously the video is in Japanese. Calling any fans who know Japanese: Looking for someone to send a translated video transcript!
I think the video speaks for itself. Hold on, I think I'm drooling...
One thing you can trust about the news flow is that it never leaves you waiting for a full week.
This week, Atlus teases with a view of Millennium Girls Album cover. The tradition of releasing a short but sweet OST continues with the newest game in the series. We can expect to see this CD complete with rough outtakes of some of the musical pieces in the adventure and an assortment of eye candy artworks. If you speak Japanese you'll probably be enjoying this when the game is released on June 27th otherwise you'll just have to take this cover to hold you over.
We're also treated with news of Madhouses participation with Atlus on the opening animation of Millennium Maiden. No tastes of this yet but Madhouses vision of our charismatic dungeon crawler should be something to see in the coming weeks.
Madhouse is also behind Paranoia Agent, Highschool of the dead, and the Persona 4 Golden Arena opening, which greatly raises the expectation for extremely jive dancing to find it's way into Etrian Odyssey this entry.
If you want to see Frederica Shimmy, stick around. Otherwise, see you In The Labyrinth.
These new magazine scans bring news of Etrian Odyssey Millennium Girl's "Classic" mode where players can embark on an adventure sans Atlus' cast of main characters. Rather they choose a home made party all their own just like they remember from the original Etrian Odyssey... If only a little more beautiful or 3D.
Millennium Girl will also have the original music from the 2007 crawler and three difficulty levels ranging from picnic mode to Hard.
Atlus might be stretching to new grounds with this game but it's no company to disappoint it's fans. A number of Yggdrasil's explorers had gripes about the new cast of characters, but hopefully this news means that I'll be seeing a lot more of you in the Labyrinth.
This news, and these scans, come courtesy of a Chinese website you can dig around in for yourself here: http://3ds.tgbus.com/news/201304/20130417114517.shtml
Props goes to forum user Snowdome for bringing us this gem of information.
The title says it all, you can find the new track here by clicking the "2" next to "sound on".
As well, you can find a list of Japanese sites offering Pre Orders at the link just below.
The song was released today along with a blog post in which the director, Komori, answers some questions about the new Etrian Odyssey game.
He states that voices are being done to enhance the world view and immersion, that the game will have options for those who just want to enjoy as well as those who remember the nail biting difficulty, and he says that this game will explore the secret of the Yggdrasil tree more so than the original DS version.
You can read it for yourself at the link.
That's all for now, stick around for more of the same.
Atlus' main Millennium Maiden website now greets viewers to a new opening page asking if they want music on. Selecting "sound on" allows the page to serenade you with a fully orchestrated remix of the first stratum theme from Etrian Odyssey 1.
I wouldn't wait around listening to me talk about it, listen to the freshly revealed music here!
The picture of the games main girl in the video up top comes from the developer blog. You can struggle through some google translated text (or know Japanese) for some insight into the thoughts of the developers.
After much waiting and much anticipation, forum poster Wave-tan has released her Etrian Odyssey IV Skill Simulator. Her and her team of coders have been hard at work on this for quite sometime (forgoing many hours of game play time with Monster Hunter, even). And it looks absolutely amazing.
Currently works only on Windows computers. Feel free to download it from the Etrian Odyssey IV page, or simply click this link.
