Recommendations: Super Metroid Metroid: Zero Mission Metroid Fusion Though Metroid Fusion was my favourite, it's a bit hard. Especially a few of the bosses. Zero Mission is the best of the three for learning the story and Super Metroid is what most consider the best of the series for its gameplay.
