Etrian Odyssey feels pretty retro to me, probably because it's reminiscent of early computer RPGs. =p Only you had to find paper to draw your own map. With the two EO games and Mega Man 9, I'm a little retro'd out... which isn't stopping me from picking up Kid Icarus, again!

Worth noting then that the bulk of the "fun" is just the sheer over-the-top violence, death, and the pretty fun boss fights. The between mission stuff is pretty fucking boring and wears out their welcome by around ... the second time. Also, the zany humor is more than welcome personally. ...
