So, this is going to be completely unrelated to the current topic... I need out of my current living situation. It's kind of a long story, but the end result of it all is that I find myself now living in a house (rented) with a young man that I do not love and sometimes cannot stand. My aunt lives a...

@Scy - You raise a very good point. It's only recently that I've begun to pay attention to where my money is going and who it's supporting when I spend it. Not that I track it in a paranoid way ("tinhatting," as you aptly named it). I am just a little more aware now than I was before. Does...

I'm happy today because my two adorable dogs are curled up asleep in the room with me and one of them just yipped in her sleep in such a way that it makes me wonder if she's dreaming. She is pictured below:
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w162/trifkin/IM000298.jpg
@Scy & Sampson: Wow. I just read a little bit about Card. I knew he was Mormon after reading the introduction to Ender's Game, but I did not realize he was so very against gay marriage (which does make sense, considering). Booooo. D< It seems he and I disagree on a great many things. Still have ...

M-Maxine... you hate sci-fi? T _ T /heart goes ker-break! (but <3 all the same) I read the "author's definitive edition" of Ender's Game and in the introduction Card talks about having been able to "fix the errors and internal contradictions and stylistic excesses" that had bugge...

I finished reading Ender's Game. It is amazing. I love it. I want to read it again RIGHT NOW. I've already flipped through to reread random bits here and there. I also reread the last chapter. But I'm supposed to be finishing that biography of Russell Brand... and reading that World of Warcraft nove...

Wow. Families, eh? I'm not sure how to vote here. Technically I have two older half-sisters. I met them once when I was very tiny and we went to a zoo. I don't actually remember, I just have photographs. Since I was raised with a younger half-brother, though, I feel like an older sibling, so I guess...
