Re: Pets! And stories

They're pretty dern cute. Isis likes to play fetch with hair ties. If she sees one in your hand, she'll actually beg you to throw them by meowing pitifully. xD

Re: Pets! And stories

My roommie made a tumblog about her cats, but ITL won't let me post the tumblr link because it's blacklisted. It's mycatshavenobrains dot tumblr dot com, for the curious. The grey one, Deveraux (I like to call him D-Tro), likes to hang out in my window because birds nest in the overhang and wander a...

Been meaning to comment about those. I think they look freaking fantastic. You keep topping yourself and it's a wonderful thing. Looooove the stuff you did on Raven and Sokka, and I dunno what Fey Winds is but I sure as hell want to look it up now!

Re: Mobile Theme

I absolutely love the mobile theme when I'm on my phone. It makes browsing the forums SO much easier. :D

I only see two things that might need tweaking. It's hard to read the white usernames and such against that greyish looking box, and I don't see a 'next page' button at the bottom.

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

Then don't read it. Admittedly, I'm very biased, being a quadralingual, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. The thing is, if you have only a basic grasp on the language and you have zero to little idea of the culture behind the literature or particular work, it comes off as needlessly judgment...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to experience something the way it was intended to be experienced as closely as possible without having to learn an entire language. Especially ones like Japanese and Chinese. Beautiful as they are, they're very low on this particular language-lover'...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

You know, I can't really knock that genre at all because at my first bookstore (where I worked for 5 1/2 years), the romance genre as a whole was our bread and butter. The majority of our customer base ate that stuff up, so I would frequently try some of the things our customers were raving about. A...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

Oh yeah! I listened to the Twilight audiobooks... I don't remember them very well, but I did enjoy the reader's voice quite a bit. It's really too bad that most of her voice work is on titles I have zero interest in.

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

The only vampire story I've enjoyed that had a vaguely romantic element to it was Sunshine by Robin McKinley. It was damn good. Outside of that, I don't recall reading any vampire fiction other than I Am Legend (Richard Matheson) and Pandora (Anne Rice).

You can always try looking for Chuck Wendig's Flash Fiction Challenges. They can be really good prompts sometimes! http://terribleminds.com/ramble/2013/07 ... dom-items/

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

Haven't read it. What kind of sci-fi is it? I like things that are "twenty seconds into the future" or based on a theme of discovering/exploring stuff, but I'm not the biggest fan of end-of-times or lightsabers... It's been a few years since I read it, but if I recall correctly it's got a...

@Hong - I'm a vegetarian. :3 Have been for quite a few months now, and I'm finding I rather like it.
