Good question. Maybe fighter to use Shield Drum to keep the heat off you. Or mage to keep you healed and buffed. I'd take fighter since you lack defense. In the end, I think your main pawn should be a class you want to make sure suits your needs. If you trust people to have good healing mages, don't...
