Re: ¡Día de Muertos!

Today one of my goth inclined students spent 15 minutes asking me questions about witches, vampires, and Satan. Which, as you'll know from previous posts of mine, is basically what I studied in college. Never has a student been so interested in something I was saying. Why isn't it always Halloween a...

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar

Its less surprising then you would think. You always gotta remember that you're a digital native, whereas folks like myself and Trifkin are on the cusp. People even just a little bit older than myself or Trifkin are often totally baffled by technology even these many years since it became a workpla...

Re: Why Are You Happy Today?

Probably inheriting my grandmother's home in Tramore, Ireland. It would go to my father, but of course he is deceased, and as it stands my grandmother thinks that of the two male grandchildren of her name, and there are only two, I am the one most capable of maintaining it from far afield. I would p...

Re: General Writing

I wouldn't say that I feel confident in my writing. I like to tell stories, and as you've said, when rooted in something that's happened to me, its quite easy to do so. My problem is that I feel as though I'm much better at relating stories orally. When it comes to writing them down I tend to strugg...

Re: General Writing

I know that I am a good story teller, but its very difficult for me to tell stories without an audience. I've thought about making a youtube channel or something, because I want to tell stories, but I find it very hard to write anything. Anyone else feel this?

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar

So do people stop learning about new things? Like anything that happens after they're a certain age is just unimportant and inconsequential? It definitely seems that way sometimes. Seems really silly, right? But when you work full time, especially if you commute as well, you tend to use the time yo...

Re: What are you watching? (TV/Movies)

I hate The Neverending Story on account of being required to read it in German for a German course.

Re: Pets! And stories

A bird has taken up residence in the high school office (high ceilings).

We've had a student in there on in-school suspension until such a time as he can be trusted to attend class. He named the bird Twinkle. He has adopted it as his only friend and ally.

Re: What do you eat?

Mostly coffee.

I have a student brew me a pot or two a day.

Mostly these days I eat coffee and student tears.
