Re: What are you watching? (TV/Movies)

Just saw Man of Steel. It was pretty damn bad. It was like they solved all the typical problems that a Superman movie has, but then forgot they were supposed to write a decent script, or that it should be directed with consistent tone.

Zack Snyder's hamfists were on full display.

Re: Why Are You Happy Today?

The time has come to leave my college, I finally graduated as a Junior (in France you get a degree after 3 years of college instead of 2 years in the US) \o/ I'll get my diploma on Monday :) I think you mean 4 years in the US, unless you're talking about college specifically and not university as a...

Re: What are you watching? (TV/Movies)

Also saw Star Trek: Into Darkness. Very worth seeing, although we felt the action scenes were too long. Also, can they get to later uniforms yet, mostly for the women? I'm wondering why 23rd century female uniforms have mini-skirts still. I wondered this exact thing after watching that movie. Diage...

Re: Why Are You Happy Today?

... they worked around my college hours. What other job was going to allow me to work only four hour shifts on some days? I did this at the bank for quite a while, and retained my benefits... Just saying... In any case, I hope your interview goes well. Remember that confidence is key, and don't let...

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar

I would rather have a mountain of student debt than continue living with the knowledge that the only reason I was able to pay for school is because I received a glut of grants after my father died, age 50, and left my mother an uneducated widow. Before you complain about the many problems FAFSA has...

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar

@Drathi: I started school when I was 18, I ended up taking 3 years off to take care of my family while my father was ill, and I didn't return to school until I was almost 22. I'm graduating in 3 weeks, 3 years "late", even with summer classes and credits from high school. If I had graduate...

Re: What are you watching? (TV/Movies)

^Captain America is a surprisingly fun adventure movie. It kind of reminded me of Indiana Jones, which I think is the vibe they were shooting for.

^Certainly tastes better than if I made it myself. As a prolific consumer of steaks, it was one of the better steaks I've had.

Re: What do you eat?

Had very fancy dinner last night. Ahi tuna appetizer with martinis followed by $50 steaks with more martinis followed by creme brulee. So that was all very nice.
