Re: Show Yourselves! (Photo Thread)

This is stupid, I know, but I always sort of expected that if we're going to have zombies, I'd also get to have spells. My logic goes something like: 1) I'm already a witch without anything to show for it, so my true story has not yet begun. 2) Some type of Apocalypse comes ... 3) ??? 4) MAGIC!! Thu...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

I try to stay away from TV Tropes dives, but it can be a fantastic site for networking and researching a title you want to read/watch. Because of this I think it's a neat, if unexpected, way to promote a work. Also Maxine and Kino, I agree about King. I mean I respect all the writing he's done, but ...

Re: General Writing

@Sirth: I don't remember that either, so thanks for reposting it, I'll have to take a look! I'm having an awful time deciding on names. :/ I need to start keeping a small notebook with nothing but name ideas. I heard that. I was also thinking like two days ago how I want to make a name directory. Co...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

Absolutely it's become a standard. Monette is my standard for character/world-building and total "grab your heart and refuse to let it go" moments -- the type of story that utterly changed me when I read it, that utterly consumed me. But Havemercy? That one is the "dokidoki" cha...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

It's a very "epic" series -- lots of characters, multiple motives and plot threads, lots of political intrigue and backstabbing, and very little character development* yet oodles and oodles of character building. I understand what you mean. He characterizes well and shows who these people...

Re: What do you eat?

Ooh, I just got a neat survey idea! :) What flavors of potato chips/crisps are popular where you live? And which flavor is your favorite? The most common flavors here are onion and sour cream, cheddar cheese, and then barbecue. I've always liked salt and vinegar, but most people seem to see it as a...
