Well I just made my character and I laughed pretty hard at the options avaliable. All of the face types look ridiculous, and most of the hair styles do too, with the colours avaliable anyway. My character's name is Soichiro, just gave him the first name that popped into my head; he looks stupid anyw...

Ok, so I guess I'll stay away from the white channels for now, given that I wouldn't be able to defend myself with no experience and a level 1 character, but I am quite interested in PvP when I get stronger.

Okay, Mercury it is. I'm going to go on now and see if I can figure this game out.

Edit: Okay, I just went to connect and there are 20 different channels per server. Does it matter which one I choose. Sorry for the stupid question, but I've never played an MMO before.

That sucks Maxine. Personally, I'm still trying to adjust to my new course. Apparently, they think that once you're at Diploma level you don't need a teacher at all; at the start of the year they give you all the resouces you need (tutorials, textbooks etc) and a disk with a few thousand activites o...

It turns out that Cabal Global's servers (where players who weren't in America or Europe went) merged with the US ones a while back, so I have a choice of either Mercury or Venus. Just installed it now, so I guess I'll pick Mercury.

Thanks for that information. It's very hard to find reliable information, since almost everything I've found either conflicts with info from another source or is so old it cannot be considered reliable anymore. I'll have a better look at that wiki when I get home (I'm at TAFE now), but right now I a...

@Data limits: Truly unlimited plans are very rare in Australia. They would only be available to the most urban of areas (i.e. Sydney) and cost literally hundreds of dollars a month. To give you an idea, I have a cousin who lives in Sydney who pays ~$100 a month for 8/Mbps and 200GB of data, and I ha...

That would explain why I have yet to get them then, as I have yet to use an Item Point in this game. Guess I should build up a Mine/Chop/Take Survivalist then.

The amount of data my ISP allows me to download/upload a month on my current plan (2GB peak/6GB off-peak) before my speed is lowered from 4/2 Mbps to 64/64 kbps.

I've never actually played an MMO before, but I've decided to give Cabal a go. I can't download it right now, because I've already gone over my data allowance this month, but that clicks over in a few days. Meanwhile I've decided to start planning out my character. From I've read so far, I've been t...

The quality of the Dragonlance books is kind of all over the place. Some, like the Chronicles or Legends trilogys, are excellent whilst quite a few others (can't actually think of any off the top of my head) are pretty so-so. The Meetings Sextet is really good too, but only if you've read both Chron...

I am a little confused as to what to do now... you make some good points Randomnicity, both here and in gooogly2's "I have some questions about Etrian Odyssey strategys..." topic in the EOI section. To be honest I'd never thought of the Slow Step + Nectar combination. I have yet to unlock ...

When I was in high school, I read the Wheel of time books, up to Lord of Chaos. I don't really remember much about them, except that I really liked them (though this should be taken with a grain of salt, as I was a fantasty novel fanatic back then and spent as much time, if not more, reading Dragonl...

The first part of my order arrived the other day, and I just got around to borrowing a friend's camera to take a photo of it. I would like to apologize in advance for the crappy photos; it's an old and cheap piece of crap camera, and I couldn't manage to get decent lighting conditions without more e...

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w8/Ronin_Cooper/Photos/000_0004-2.jpg I've seen the name Deathsmiles thrown around before but never looked it up because, to be honest, I thought the name sounded pretty stupid. After seeing this picture however I was intrigued and, after a quick Google search, de...
