I finished "out of the silent planet" "perelandra" and "that hideous strength" by C.S. Lewis. I thought the series as a whole was much better than the chronicles of narnia series, although almost everyone sees fit to compare all his works with it.

Perhaps such boots appear in the PLA-verse, where all things are extraordinary, however, in the world of man, it is but a fable, for boots to be so pimp as to survive through an alien dinosaur apocolypse.
