I have just empirically CONFIRMED that passive skills stack if you have multiple copies. Test done using TP up because it's the only one you can see quickly.

Blah. Alright, that's a seriously awful design for a quest. I'd been through the cave about a halfadozen times, three or four after fully mapping it, without ever noticing that. Not even much of an indication to look from the map layout or anything.
