I wouldn't call it an OS. I have a fairly ancient (monochrome display, only built-in ringtones) Siemens A51. The only thing I use it for is sending/receiving SMS messages a few times a year.

Since Atlus are still working on the English version, you might want to hop on their forum to ask if they can do something about such bugs while they're at it.

Well, considering that the EO games take about a year (maybe more?) to develop, that'd be hard to do before the 3DS goes on sale. The latest rumors have it slated for December-March.

I can't find any comics done by Yuji Himukai (the character designer for the EO series) for EO3.

The European version of EO1 had two letter class abbreviations, so that shouldn't be a reason to change class names.
