Re: 9th Grade Bookshelf Suggestions Wanted!
In addition: I teach in deep East Oakland. One of my students was shot over the summer and is still on crutches because of his fractured femur. Another student was at a family birthday party right before the first day of school and 4 people were shot, including her uncle, who died. There are always...

Re: Korra is coming!
I felt the Korra world had moved on very quickly for just 90 years or so. But I still liked it and I'm into steampunk anyway.
This series is meant to have mor spirit world which will be nice as I think that's what I missed second to most, after Aang of course.

Re: 9th Grade Bookshelf Suggestions Wanted!
Mary Stewart's Arthur trilogy told from the point of view of Merlin is awesome. As is Bernard Cornwell's Arthur series told from the view of a soldier. Very good. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series is a brilliant set of books for a crime thriller. As for Shakespeare I agree with Max, but I also ...

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar
Sometimes it really sucks being a fan. I am and was a huge fan of the Harry Potter franchise, as were many people, but with the age of the internet and social media it's got this painfully horrible way of making me feel OLD. Knowing that when I was first watching and reading Harry Potter I was as ol...

Re: Korra is coming!
I am excited about Korra. I love Korra, whilst it's not as good as the Legend of Aang, it hasn't had as much time to develop... not only that but we spent many, many years waiting for Aang and the new seasons as they came out. Korra got 13 episodes to do the entire series, not cool. Whilst the firs...

Re: 9th Grade Bookshelf Suggestions Wanted!
Yeah but it's a nice, easy read for people who aren't into reading or with low reading ability.
I liked Lord of the Flies, but being made to annotate every page of it in perpetration for an exam kind of killed it

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar
Most Webexs that I'm bullied into attending very rarely are of any significance and could've been avoided by an effective email or process. It's often just where people can't describe or tell you what needs to be done effectively.

Re: Spam Bots?
Basically tumblr has been used in loads of spam lately so one of the 5 anti spam sites we fees from has put an automated block up.
I've put a request in to unblock it.
