well you have chainmail (+6AC +2 DEX) and a tower shield (+4 Shield, limit of 2 DEX) which makes 22, and you have access to dodge (+1 dodge) and shield focus (shields offer additional +1) totaling you at 24 granted... good luck MOVING and i'd never build that... ...

Edit for noodles:just wanted to point out... you can get up to 24 AC with only 14 in dex as a fighter.... thats a huge AC for lvl 1... and that fact its possible terrifies me >>
