Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
^_^ Inkheart comes to mind, too. I didn't watch that anime. Nah, Jim is famous for taking old tropes and stories and crafting a wonderful new story while at the same time picking fun at them. I think I want the book just as much for the humor of what I'm sure is inside as much as I am for the story ...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
T-T I want Libriomancer in my life, too!! *sigh* We'll have to see how this paycheck fairs... I might risk purchasing it. Jim Hines is just so fucking witty in his other books and I love ALL of his characters ^_^ (that I've read so far). Uggg... can't wait to read....

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
Oh god, what is he doing to that book? I've heard of burning books, but stabbing them? I'll check it out, if only for the cool title. =P T-T He's not stabbing the book... he's pulling the sword out of the book. He's a "Libriomancer" - able to pull objects out of books. ^_^ I hear that som...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
*sigh* So... Libriomancer is out... :3 You guys should check it out and support one of my favorite authors. ^_^ I love his book series because he just takes fun old magic tropes and pokes fun at them. Jig the Dragonslayer series has a special place in my heart. Currently still working through his Pr...

Re: DISCUSSION THREAD: kino is king of the post-count mounta
^_^; Long hair on a guy to me is about the same as being unshaven facially. However, I also do not like them when they shave their heads. I will agree that muscled men are better - but not too ripped that it starts to look disgusting. :3 But, I agree, Trif. There is something about muscles on a guy....

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar
Damn... nice mega storm just went through our area. And of course, it was the day my mom was coming home. Her plane was suppose to land around 7 or so, but it landed in a place three-four hours away because of weather and decided to bus the passengers up. *sigh* dad just went to go get her. (it took...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
Updated my good reads profile and realized.... wow... this has been a rather disappointing year for me in terms of book reading.
*sigh* Well... I mean, I DID have a competition to win... still.... *sigh*

Re: Pets! And stories
....... I purchased a cat toy for my cats. One of those flimsy rods with feathers at the end. I've played with them before with these toys. Lily has a favorite toy that she likes. It's one of those round boards that you can hit the ball and send it going around the track and in the middle is a scrat...

SO! Our horrible weekend must be recapped and framed. I'm sure you guys remember me talking about the bird that got into our house in the Chat topic, right? It was a bad omen.... So I drove my sister to work around 11. My dad got on the phone with this phone company to talk to them and try to get he...

Re: DISCUSSION THREAD: kino is king of the post-count mounta
I wake up and go downstairs to go to the bathroom since someone was in the shower and I hear a strange skittering noise as I'm about to enter it. I'm like "wth... if that's a mouse what the hell is it doing and OMG it sounds huge." I look around and realize o_o it's a bird! OMG a bird is i...
