I'm fairly anal but not that anal (barring a few guys that need the Speed to win Speed ties, i.e., Excadrill). I didn't even notice the Modest bit until after my IV check. Suffice to say, it was rather disheartening.

I used to hate weather teams but I like them a bit more now. Mostly because it's some synergy between them instead of "stall then sweep." I still hate Baton Pass teams, though.

I recommend Hex if you go with Scald and Toxic. STAB Hex on a target with a burn or poison is pretty lethal. Waterfall isn't bad either for those Physical water attackers. But, yeah ... HMs are used ONCE this entire game to progress the story. Everything else is hidden shit or shortcuts. You can beat the game with only HM Cut in your possession. The only problem with Eelektross is that it horrifies me down...

Speaking of Emolga, there's Eelektross. No weakness due to Levitate making it immune to Ground. And it has good stats, barring Speed, at 85/115/80/105/80/50. Less of a defensive guy than a medium-bulky dude. Really slow though :/
