They're unlocked [hide]at the end of the 3rd Stratum; which one you get depends on which Mission you accept: Kill the Gatekeeper for Shoguns, Protect the Gatekeeper for Android. They unlock _after_ you finish the mission, not when you accept it.[/hide]

The issue with Beast Kings is that they're waaaay too dependent on their summons. Frankly, without them, they're rather useless. On top of that, most classes can cover the majority of the statuses you would want anyway (notably, the Binds) so it makes the hefty cost on the Beast King summons a bit o...

I hate my DS. I haven't made like any progress today which, suffice to say, sucks. That said... First Stratum [spoiler]Butterfly Bistro's New Menu [hide]Requirement: Finish the "Prelude to the Forest" Mission. It's the first quest so it's not so bad. Just kill Forest Frogs until you get 1 ...

I'll do spoiler -> hide then. I'll try to get all of the 1st Stratum tonight but my DS hasn't been liking me much today. I've re-done the first half of the second floor about 10 times now T.T

You don't use it. It's from having it in your inventory (or just finding it?). There's no harm in "using it" except maybe saving it for [hide]some really expensive item[/hide] later.
