More meant in the realm of "sold really well must be the best thing ever," mentality. They're not garbage games by any means but more of a general sales aren't indicative of quality/"how awesome is the game." I've enjoyed most of the games on the list but just think the list mean...

As interesting as the numbers are, I can't help shake the feel that people equate sales numbers to quality too damn much. It is interesting to see, though.

Most official translations are pretty terrible (either far too literal or way-out there liberal to the point they don't get the right point at all [fuck you Del-Rey]) to be honest.

Well, yes and no. The reason it is so successful is that you can finish books at a ridiculous pace (Masterpiece, the longest book at 2000+ pages, takes ~50 Sim hours to finish) so you can make quite a bit of money by finishing multiple books.
