Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
Wait, not impressed with detective fiction? My complaints were due to the nature of it against detective fiction expectations. Which I'm pretty much on the opposite side of the fence on now, hence my little blurb on the how the book should be approached. I do so quite enjoy my detective fiction and ...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
Well ... I ... Hm. "I have often noticed… that in books of that kind it is frequently assumed that any given fact can admit of only one single deduction, and that invariably the right one. Nobody else is capable of drawing any deductions at all but the author's favourite detective, and the ones...

Sorry to hear (...read? Semantics) about life shitting in your karma bag. :/
But! Enjoying life is pretty much an ideal situation. There's a limit, sure, but fuck the noise that just serves to be dead weight dragging you down.

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
A bit more progress into The Poisoned Chocolates Case . Issues from before more or less quelled and it may seem that my theory may come into play earlier than I expected . Surprisingly, I'm apparently somehow halfway through the book. Perhaps I need to sit down and actually just dedicate reading tim...

Re: Recent Purchases Thread
:/ V-MODA Crossfade M-80s are out of stock (at the $199 price point, anyway). To be patient and wait for them, to say fuck it and buy the actual MSRP ($229), or to settle for the V-80s. Same set but True Blood logos to tarnish the set that intrigued me based off the look of it. And to try to convinc...

Re: Games you are playing
I seriously must find these Godlike fauna that people speak of. Bears and Sabrecats are basically chumps on every single character I've rolled. Also, a 40 bounty is attacking an innocent, Guard, etc. You might have Shouted at one (or accidentally hit one with a shout) or killed an innocent in the wi...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
I wanted to add more but I really can't without going in circles so ... yup. Anyway, read a bit of The Poisoned Chocolates Case and ... well ... hm. The book is wordy, I'll give it that. The characters speak at great lengths for the sake of speaking at great lengths, much times rounding about their ...

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar
End of the day, the grade itself is pretty meaningless. Nobody necessarily cares that you got an A just what that A itself should represent. And even that's kind of pushing it. On the other hand, that doesn't mean to say blow it all the fuck off. That's equal parts self-centered ego and ignorance at...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
Just seems silly to hate the movie because it is an adaptation of a work rather than hating the movie because of the flaws of the movie itself. Terrible direction, pacing, and so-on. But I won't waste my precious air to bother correcting such obvious, and willing, stupidity that would be tempered wi...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
I used to tout the books are better than the movies (and light novels/manga are better than the anime, etc.) but there's an important distinction to note: They're a different medium entirely. To gauge it on the merits of the other is missing the point. Expecting a 1:1 retelling is a bit silly and, r...

Re: Games you are playing
So, since my Conjuration sucks, but my one handed is not so bad for my level... It'd probably not be as strong as some of my usual stuff. It could possibly replace one of my swords to cut back on the weight I carry a little. Minor testing so it looks like I was wrong. They have a base material stre...

Re: Games you are playing
Bound X is of no material. It scales with your Conjuration and associated weapon skill as far as I know. Though, now that I type this, I'm not certain about the Conjuration part of it.
