Re: PnP RPG Thread

Thanks! I'm going to write out some dialogue trees and flesh out the personalities of the different people they'll talk to, like Alice's friends at the academy, and villagers near the bandit's hideout. I plan to throw a lot of dialogue into battle, too, so try and break up the combat and give the PC...

Re: PnP RPG Thread

I'm preparing to DM my first adventure! I'm running a mini-quest for the group. It's taking forever to make the enemies for them to fight, though. I have to make a level 12 fighter, a level 10 ranger with an animal companion, and a level 8 magus, plus a level 8 sorceress. I almost wish they were jus...

Re: General Writing

I had a brilliant epiphany today in regards to my story. But to balance it out I've been wrestling over something so stupid as character names. I cannot write Ivri without trying to stick an "n" in there somewhere, usually Invri -- and this includes when I try to say the name, write the na...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

Prisoner by Megan Derr? Awful. Like, shockingly. I enjoyed the hell out of Midnight and thought it a very cute and entertaining book full of fantastic world-building and well designed, deep characters. It had a few cliches, but on the whole was just so imaginative, especially Devlin's rune magic and...

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: BUMMER IN THE SUMMER~

Re: DISCUSSION THREAD: hurricane vs swamp fire vs earthquake

Made it through Irene just fine. Lost power for about 17 hours, but I was really surprised how fast power was restored. Last time a major storm came through was in 2003, and I heard it took 5 days for power to be restored in my neighborhood. I took a bunch of pictures of the huge trees that came dow...

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads

@Lord of the White Hell I had to wait for a few days for the second book to arrive, and during that lull I was pleasantly surprised to find Javier and Kiram dominating my thoughts. In retrospect I was a bit harsh on the book, perhaps due to my disappointment than any real dislike. I think coming dow...
