So remember that Pokemon tribute video with Pikachu wandering along all the games, which at the end showcased Lucario and Blaziken in HD glaring at each other and standing as if it was a fighting game? Also the fact that they copyrighted Pokken Fighter shortly after that.

Well, Pokémon Tekken is now an upcoming thing in Japan, with Pokken Tournament for the arcades.



Though I think it is cool they decided to ditch one of the overhyped Fighting types and featured one of the lesser appreciated ones.

......they better have the hitmons... im not gonna be happy if they dont have the hitmons. the hitmons were MADE for that crossover

I agree full-heartedly, they are perfect for this, they bring three different playstyles. I'm guessing they are first of all adding all the fully evolved Fighting types, because I mean, it's a fighting game. And so far all the Pokemon featured in relation to this have been fighting types (Lucario, Machamp and Blaziken).

I really hope this does get a home console release for the WiiU. I'd love to battle people online in this, no matter how horrible I'd be. Also, I'd main Medicham no matter how horrible I'd be at them.

I'm just really interested to see how some Pokemon will be dealt with, some like yeah, Poliwrath, Breloom and Conkeldurr are some I want to see how they handle. Also, if Hawlucha is not present in the end, I will be majorly disappointed!

Hawlucha is broken! no flying types in this fighting-type game! I WILL NOT ALLOW STAB SUPER EFFECTIVE MOVES IN MY RING!!!

I doubt they'd bring in type effectiveness into a fighting game, it would just be very awkward (plus both Medicham and Gallade would then probably go away as well in that case since they're part Psychic). Though I do wonder if moves like Hi Jump Kick would still induce self-damage if they miss.

i dunno about you, but i'd find it hilarious if they flew into the edge of the screen and got flying back and took damage xD

I'd love that, some goofy details (along with shocked expressions from the pokemon) like that would make the game fun to play.

Edit: @ChaseYes_ made a small list of fighting styles represented in both Pokémon and Tekken with potentional Pokken Tournament characters in mind.

the large imposing bear style... its always god-tier.

Primal Kyogre has a new ability called Sea of Beginnings and Primal Groudon has a new ability called Land of Endings. They activate what is called Strong Rain and Strong Sunlight respectively. My guess is that since weathers was nerfed in XY, these version are permanent. Also, the new move we've seen Primal Groudon use is called Cliff's Blade. Nothing have been said about Primal Kyogre's.

Three new megas!

The totally obvious Mega Camerupt gains Sheer Force as an Ability, their Speed decreases while the rest increases.


Mega Sharpedo gains Strong Jaw as an ability and all stats gets an increase.


And Mega Gallade! Nothing on Serebii besides what you see. So prepare yourself when travelling through Victory Road.
