Have my competitive team bred and Ev trained, just need to finish leveling this Volcarona up enough to fill out the moveset and I'm done with that. Meanwhile, the local Pokemon players are forming a league, and I get to be a gym leader. My type is Ghost, and I have that team halfway finished- 3 Pokemon bred, EV trained and with the right movesets, 2 left to EV train, and then I still have to breed a good Spiritomb in Gen IV for Sleep Talk and send it on up.
Should be pretty cool. About 135 hours into the game, finished the story, obviously, and taken down everything except Battle subway. Pokedex is at 400 something right now (would be higher if I would just sit down and transfer EVERYTHING over from last gen), and I've started to build up a good Ditto base. Still a little meh about how my IVs are turning out, but given how small of an impact those actually have outside of hypercompetitive speed races and determining Hidden Power, and how non vital a part of things they are to the local meta, I guess I need to stop worrying about it so much.
current competitive team set up is:
Terrakion
Accelgor
Jellicent
Ferrothorn
Braviary
Volcarona
I feel a little eh overall about it; this is by far the most standard competitive team I have ever built. I realize that a big part of it is that I a a much better player now than I was back in the beginning of the Gen IV competitive era with my Ampharos and my Politoed and my Flygons, but part of me can't help but feel a little like I'm turning into one of THOSE guys, who ignore a vast majority of the Pokedex and just are not much fun to play with or even talk about Pokemon with. I wish there were some middle ground between scrub and Stop Having Fun Guy assholery.
Kind of hoping the gym set up part of the league, which is less 1 on 1 and more group challenge (you put up a team for challenge, and then have to face a gauntlet of gym battles for league ranking), will help alleviate that, but I'm feeling iffy because the Water Gym leader is obsessed with having the "gym no one can beat", the Dragon Gym leader won't understand why Palkia, Latias, Latios, Garchomp, Zekrom, Reshiram doesn't makes a balanced gym team, and the asshole Ice Gym leader is talking about making his team a Sheer Cold spam team, which wavers between bad sportsmanship and just being fucking stupid, so I don't know.
The Electric Gym guy is sort of a riot, though, he hasn't played since like, Yellow, has no idea what he is doing, and has taken down some of the better players in the area in casual matches. Not sure if it is sheer dumb luck or if he is some sort of crazy super player, but it's a hoot. He can take apart a high end team and not even know what all the Pokemon on it ARE, but then he makes crazy mistakes like Thunderbolting a Ground type, getting miffed, and doing it again and complaining about how something must be wrong. It cracks me up.

My party is terrible because it can be almost completely shut down by ice beam, but I can't bring myself to change it because it contains all of my favorite gen5 pokemon.
Galvantula, Reuniclus, Lilligant, Krookodile, and Chandelure (actually it's still a Lampent, since it hasn't learned all its good moves yet.), there's also a ducklett, but it's just there to use HM moves and I don't really care about it.
If I didn't need fly, I'd use a Hydreigon instead of the ducklett, since I think he's cool.
