Punching people is very romantic, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that Espeon.
Dear Sawsbuck,
Let's be friends. We'll have little sugar cakes and watch Entourage and fuck up Swamperts together. You can spend the night at my house, I have a Transformers sleeping bag you can borrow. Bring your Horn Leech. Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Josh

I think Cheren is sort of cute. He's all serious and "I pensively slide my glasses up, guys," but he's still a Pokemon-training nugget.
Meanwhile, I almost can't believe I'm still lingering at the sixth gym. Ugh. The last generation took me this long to get through (I never beat the E4 in Pearl). I think it's because as much as I've played Pokemon, I'm not very interested in grinding up multiple Pokemon to have a good spread, or even for the little bit one uses for gyms.
(And yes, I know that Pokemon-is-easy-blah-blah-why-would-you-have-to-grind. You know what I mean ;p)
I have, however, decided on this loose lineup for my Psychic gym in our local league:
Victini - As my "legend" slot, this guy is more or less my star player. I'm going for fast and hard hitting special moves with a happy boost from Victory Star. Fire addresses the problem of Bug opponents nicely, as well.
Exeggutor - Special Sweeper. I can't remember now why I wanted a Psychic/Grass so much, but I did. Style, I guess.
Gallade - Basic Sweeper. Provides defense against Dark (but not Ghost).
Bronzong - A barricade against weaknesses and a resilient staller. Holds off both Dark and Ghost.
Gardevoir - Wish tricks, probably coupled with Reflect.
Gothitelle - I want to try this one out more extensively in-game before I decide, but I like its combination of defensive stats and Dark-type moves.
It's tentative, of course, but I like that so far. Now, to get those Pokemon up and running . . .
We'll probably use more standard, mixed teams for the time being. I'm not decided on what I want to use for now, but we also haven't started battling yet. My boss at work is getting quite excited about battling, though.
