I will only have the 3DS version for the forseeable future, so I REALLY hope there's internet-play for the 3DS version.

^ I promise there will be Internet play in the 3DS version. :)

Recently, the fact Lip was considered for SSB64 was brought to my attention. In the same response, Sakurai-san, also stated he considers Panel de Pon to be a masterpiece. This is likely why we get another piece of Panel de Pon in every entry since Melee.

She is not my favourite of the fairies, but I would love to see more PnP in Smash Bros. I love that game. Maybe then we could get a proper sequel? And a story? With the right characters? That is made by someone who knows the basics of game design?

I'd take an Assist Trophy, too. @~@

The fans made some cool stuff.

I know it as Puzzle League (which plays better because DS), but Panel De Pon is really cute ^_^

:( I didn't like it because the game is never fast. Just varying degrees of slow. Also, the cute sound effects are gone. The game doesn't have to be inherently fast since that would be awful for newcomers, though more contrast in the speed settings would have been nice. ^~^

Ike in Project: M... actually plays like Ike. o.o Fast movement, slow attacks. Kind of like Captain Falcon with less control and a sword.

(starts :50)

Ganondorf also got the beast-treatment.

I tried Project: M earlier today. It was loads of fun, but I'm still getting used to it all. It's a lot of changes to wrap one's head around.

What's your take on it?

Like honestly, if you increase the speed by about 25%, remove tripping and increase hitstun, I would prefer classic Brawl for battle royals with items and stuff. That said, for a one on one experience with more depth, Project M is certainly the better game.

I really enjoyed it, like I said. About a year ago I was one of those people who always said "Brawl is it's own game! We don't need to make it just like Melee!" but then I started replaying Smash 64, then Melee, then finally going back to Brawl and realizing how weak and slow paced it felt to the other two, as well as how ridiculous some characters were (Metaknight's insane priority, Link's sluggish movements, Bowser being Bowser, Captain Falcon being disgraced, etc). After that I just went back to Melee, but I really missed playing as other characters like Ike, Wario, and (what I consider) a not terrible Game and Watch.

So when I finally got out of my rock to try it--finding a memory card big enough to hold the data but smaller than 2 gigs was a pain in the ass, by the way--I was pleasantly surprised by how good it felt. It felt like Melee, but it didn't feel like they wanted it to be FOX ONLY NO ITEMS FINAL DESTINATION, but instead want a balanced game. Though Metaknight still feels a bit broken. My only real complaints are that the character select and stage select layout is totally different so it takes me ages to find what I want, and a few characters are still missing. Zero Suit Samus is in, but Samus isn't finished yet? Lame. There's also a ton of changes to character's movesets that are difficult to grasp unless you thoroughly read a change log. Like Iyvsuar being able to recover % while charging up for A FREAKING SOLAR BEAM, Bowser having two different super armor frames, and Lucas' PK Freeze being swapped with some kind of offense up skill or something. So while I enjoy the changes so far, I still need more time to get used to the whole thing and get a better idea of it. It also gave me mixed feelings toward Sakurai. He wants the best for the series, but also wants his vision for it instead of what fans want like the whole no skins and other small stuff like that that wouldn't really affect gameplay. It also makes me hopeful for Kerfuffle because it's confirmed to be faster than Brawl, and to me Brawl was only the weakest because it was the slowest and floatiest.

There is a reason from the start I had a grudge against Brawl.

It is not even just the design direction they took. I don't think they delivered on it well. Like, even the fans knew Meta Knight was going to be ridiculous from early gameplay footage. While everyone game has bugs, something as simple to perform as Koopa Hopping should have no way made it into the game. Everything about Brawl suggests they simply bit more than they could chew. GLARING imbalances, shitty moves (see: nearly every newcomer's forward + B), graphical and gameplay bugs galore, the most sudden and jarring story ending, and not to mention two delays.

The entirety of the value in this product is the fan service. Trophies, stickers, an awesome soundtrack and mostly incredible cutscenes. These graphical and audio endeavours are accomplished mostly through creative forces. There is no reason why they should let the core game experience suffer. I would like to think SSE was largely to blame. It took a lot of work and, while the 70% of the story is good, overall it was a bleak game experience.

It is most fortunate they finalized their roster early. Villager, Mega Man and Wii Fit Trainer, as well as the new Bowser, have set the standard for how I want to see them give characters proper attention. The characters and how the game plays is the absolute most integral part of the experience. Let things like trophies and music act as fluff; these things don't take a lot of play testing. At the end of the day a tacked-on adventure mode is going to be like 3% of your total play time, counting additional runs.

So, it's highly unlikely that one or maybe two more newcomers will pop up too? I really want someone from Awakening instead of Ike (Marth must remain, because...yeah, I like playing with him both in Melee and Brawl). :(

Oh, I couldn't see us getting less than five more new characters, factoring in replacements.

I think the new Mewtwo will replace Lucario. It is not so much that they are the same character, but having both of them certainly complicates development.

Toon Link will be replaced as per norm.

Ike likely replaced by Chrom or Lucina. Same deal as Lucario: you could technically make them unique characters, but it would really not go down well.

Possibility of Pokemon Trainer from another region? Hard to call.

And whatever else is in store for the future. All predictions, of course. With Pit holding the Guardian Orbitars, will Palutena carry her shield to battle? What of a yet another unseen retro addition? Will we have another third-party addition? Many possibilities.
