Forward tilt I think.
Unrelated to the above, but if they axe Snake, I hope they keep his play style. It is very interesting. Maybe map it to Sami or another Advance Wars character?

Man, I'd be so psyched if they put in Sami, she was my favorite CO.

Regardless of who they take, I like the concept even though I am not a huge Advance Wars fan. In my personal opinion, Snake overextended the artistic liberties of a character, being a bit too realistic for the given environment. Would prefer an Advance Wars characters that pulled out weapons with the strong, distinct colours of the units in the game, or at least more exaggeration.

I think we can all agree that the Smash attack would need to be a Super CO Power.

Nah. She needs to summon a tank. If I am not mistaken no one has anything like that for their Final Smash yet, so I think it could be new and different.

^ Sami has no special synergy with tanks outside of Earth and Sky with Eagle.
Victory March is her usual big thing. Overwhelming speed.

She does have synergy with APCs though, doesn't she?

I was planning on giving the series another shot, actually. Famicom Wars was nice, and it is effectively a modernization of the same series. I don't think Intelligent Systems make bad games. Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Panel de Pon, WarioWare... just some of the solid games they are involved with.

Villager's recovery works exactly as I had anticipated: Like the game it is inspired by, it grants the Villager the ability to flutter great distances with the tap of a button, but the balloons are vulnerable to attack. As with Snake, it looks like you want to approach the stage from above rather than below.
