The Smash community is also, more than any other part of the FGC, the most adverse to change. They are so naive and afraid of the unknown, and as someone who is involved with all kinds of competitive games it can be painful to watch at times.
is also one of my favourite changes. Basically, if you touch the ledge while someone else is holding it, you kick them off. Furthermore, ledge invincibility is dictated by how long you've been in the air, so stalling won't grant you infinite invulnerability. This is PROOF that they are aware of his the game was being played competitively. In general I think this is great, but of course the competitive community had such a horrible knee-jerk reaction because all they can think about is what they are used to, as opposed to what it could be. This is still so immensely complex, and we are only just coming to grasp the implications and possibilities.
Also supported by the fact now characters have a specific animation they use when they run off the ledge to more readily intercept recoveries. Mario illustrates it in match.
