I'm super happy about Grim Fandango finally getting its very well-earned remaster.

I hate 3d Zelda. The only one I enjoyed was Wind Waker and Majora's Mask (but I don't like to acknowledge this as a Zelda game). I was so disgusted with Skyward Sword. I've still not finished it.
I have no interested in a Wii U either. This might be the very first Zelda that I just decide not to purchase. Either people tell me it's got a great storyline and they tell me that it is worth the purchase or I'm not doing it.
^_^ 2D Zeldas on the other hand I wish they would focus more on. Link Between Worlds was SOOOOO adorable and had that Zelda flare I crave but was way too short and I felt they could have expanded more on the story.
I do not give a damn about world expansion. It reminds me of Hyrule Field in OoT and TP or even the skies in SS. There's just a whooooooooole lot of nothing. I. DON'T. CARE. I like the dungeons. I like the puzzle solving. Mostly, though, I love the story. <3 The moment in LttP that Zelda is zapped away by Agahnim. Or the moment in TWW when Link is captured by a bird and first lays eyes on the mysterious Ganon. ~ <3

Besides the mentions of some specific games I haven't played and the fact that she enjoyed the stories, whilst I didn't, Maxine basically just described how I feel about Zelda. I really enjoy the way Zelda games construct their dungeons and the puzzles are, in general, quite enjoyable.
I guess I'll also throw it out there that the Oracle of Season/Ages games are definitely my favourites. Especially Seasons, which I should note, contains one of the only mini-games I've ever enjoyed.

Firstly, I just want to see if any Americans here can clear something up for me. Exactly what period of time is covered by Fall? Also, given that they have said that GG Xrd will release "Holiday Season 2014" when would you consider that to be? You guys have so many holidays, I have no idea if this means Christmas or something else.
GG Xrd -Sign-:
Nintendo Treehouse Day 1:
(This won't embed for some reason)
I was really sick yesterday, and didn't feel up to doing much of anything, so I decided to catch up on some E3 stuff. Note that the guy who recorded the stream was having issues with his connection or something, so video and/or audio do drop out occasionally, but it's only really an issue early on. The video quality kind of sucks though.
If anyone here is wondering, the games that are in the stream that I didn't feel like mentioning here are Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Mario Maker.
Splatoon (30:39 & 3:14:23)
For some reason this game is on the stream twice. Also, the second time they said that they would cover more advanced tactics than they did the first time, but then proceeded to show the exact same thing. The only thing they mentioned that was new was that, when you get a kill the person who died explodes, spreading your colour ink around, but this was already obvious from just watching the earlier matches.
Anyway, I think they have made some strange choices with this game. So many things seem pretty useless. First off, whilst I know it is not supposed to be the primary focus, I think that getting kills should do a bit more than it does. It barely affects the outcome of the match at all. The amount of territory gained is completely insignificant and they can just superjump right back into the fray, so they only lose a few seconds there.
Secondly, Ink Bombs. They use up 70% of a full ink tank, but cover hardly any area at all. I'd say the same thing about those balloons.
Finally, the super attacks. There wasn't really any good footage of these, but they don't seem to cover that much either. Just based off what I've seen here, I'd prefer the regular gun.
Project Giant Robot (1:05:53)
This has to be one of the most ridiculous ideas for a game I have ever seen. Worth a watch, just to see how hilariously bad it is looks.
Unrelated to the game, but I now have a lot of respect for Bill Trinen, who was translating for Miyamoto. His Japanese pronunciation is some of the best I've heard from a non-native speaker.
Project Guard (1:19:30)
Definitely a novel concept. A co-op game with only one player? Very unique, but I don't think it seems very fun and they need more cameras for the idea to actually work. Granted, it would be a little harder whilst actually having to play the game and not just be watching, but I had little trouble at all keeping track of where the enemies were and what they were doing.
Xenoblade Chronicles X (1:47:41)
Firstly, I just want to say that I never find any attempts at comedy in these things funny, but I got a good chuckle out of "Did you just give her your old shirt?" That was way funnier than it should have been.
As for the game itself, I am pretty impressed. As long as it gets a lot harder, and I suspect it will, combat looks fun. The Japanese voice acting is very good, though I doubt we'll get to keep that. My only real concern is that it appears to be a completionist's nightmare. I hope it does something similar to the Elder Scrolls games, whereby there is loot everywhere, but it is all randomised, and that you can freely return to old areas. This allows people like me to, if begrudgingly, accept that it would be essentially impossible to get everything, so we just get what we can and then move on.
One thing I'm unsure of is, what the deal is with the NPCs calling out and telling you what type of attacks to use. Is this just the game's way of letting you know the most effective way of dealing with a specific enemy, or is there some kind of actual mechanic here?
Hyrule Warriors (2:32:39)
Well, this killed any real interest I had in the game. I'll still follow it and see how it turns out, but this seems way too easy, even by Musou standards. At first I thought that maybe it was one of the first stages on an easy difficulty setting, but then Aonuma congratulated Chris on how he was doing, because apparently this is a difficult level. Also, what the hell was with that boss fight? Hookshot it, wail on it while it is down, repeat until you win. What is that?
I also think that it is kind of dodgy how they have given multiple movesets to the same character, instead of putting in new characters.
Overall, not the most impressive 4 hours, but I'm still glad I watched it.

@Fall:
It's pretty "meh" and nondescript even for us and I hate when they post this. Still typically in the past when games have been given the "Fall" branding release dates soon after have been in the September to October area. August I feel could be argued but I think most view this as a summer month (at least I do) and maybe in November but I think that's pushing it. Usually if games are gonna be this late they usually push it to:
@Holiday Season:
CHRISTMAS!~ Always.
The day after Thanksgiving aka Black Friday is the official start of the Holiday season. Thanksgiving is the third Thursday of the month of November. Yes, we have multiple Holidays but this is the only one that we call the "Holiday Season".
^_^ Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot Maxine! I'm so damn hyped for this game that I really wanted to pinpoint the release date as close as possible.

I thought for games and the like, Fall==Q3? Holiday season would then be Q4.
And yes, I'm kinda jelly too of N-Americans' many holidays and their even spread around the year. Over here everything is in Spring, then nothing the rest of the year except Xmas/New Year's.

Father's Day isn't really a holiday, is it? What about 4 July? Isn't there also one in September or so?

Mother's and Father's day are more days of observances rather than Holidays.
Sept - Labor day
Memorial Day does count in my mind (especially when I get holiday pay from it) and I feel it's just as important as July 4th (?? which I don't think I get holiday pay for... lol).

The mystery girl from the cover of Hyrule Warriors, possibly named Lana, an original character.
Also, Agitha, the awkward bug girl from Twilight Princess is also confirmed as playable. She will mainly use her parasol and summon bugs as a part of her movepool. Really glad she's in, she is my favorite female NPC in Zelda.
So the six playable characters are Link, Zelda, Impa, Midna, Lana and Agitha. One guy and five girls. While I don't mind, because it's pretty cool, but I really want more dudes. Especially since there's only three more spots left.
What would make me happy now would be a not-joke Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass or Ralph from Oracle of Ages. Either of them, or both, preferably both.

Zant and Argorok are both confirmed to be villains, yeah. For the sake of clearing things up, Argorok's the annoying dragon you fought up in the sky city, the home of the weird ass oocoos, with the double hookshot in TP, so yeah, guess that's why the hookshot was revealed as an item.
