For what it's worth, the board is used in other games and is not sold separately.
Besides that, yes, people are stupid. I'm going to have to invest in a lot of alcohol to forget the numbers when Wii Music releases and that tops the charts for stupid reasons. Speaking of Wii Music:

Possible Consequences of Cheating (having Multiple Girlfriends) in Persona 4
[spoiler]. From what I've read so far, it seems that a Shuraba event could occur where the rival will show up while you are on a date. The rivalry appears to be between Yukiko and Ebihara, Rise and Ozawa. So does that mean...that Chie will have a rivalry with Ayane!? So there's always going to be one clueless person? Info from ShibuyaYakuza...not confirmed. [/spoiler]
