Got to the second stratum. XD I also am keeping track of how many days it takes my party to beat the boss of each stratum. It took me 30 days in game to get to defeat Fenrir.

Downloaded original Shin Megami Tensei and the translation pack. Going to try to take another stab at getting through the game. I had made some progress before a virus had wiped my computer clean - that is to say that I had gotten through the first "boss" that was nerfed because of Cerberus.
^_^; Guess I'm getting anxious for Devil Survivor 2. Maybe I should just pick up DS again and try to get through it again - I just don't want to be burnt out on it. *sigh*
Still... my god this game is so unforgiving. Took me forever to get a fucking demon recruited. And even Pixie gave me a hard time. Damn bitch. I would always never have enough of what they wanted from me. >_<

........ In one sitting I'm fast approaching where I was in my last playthrough. I must not have played very much or cared very much?
Also... was there a compendium in this game??

Yeah that bloody map is frustrating to reach and then I realized it also flips orientation along with the character (so up is not always north). There is a "mapper" spell...
I am rather proud of myself though. I have gotten through the hospital without casting the mapper spell. I absolutely insist on making sure I can get through the game while being familiar with the mazes without being that dependent on the map. I think getting myself use to it now will hopefully save a little in the future.
Also ^_^ I have no problem grabbing a pencil and my own graph paper if I need to in the future. :3
One frustrating thing: Trying to deal with the gun glitch. :\ After removing the patch I had hoped just accessing the shop, taking a snapshot, and reloading the patch it would translate things but of course I can't get that lucky. The patch won't load like that without a clean game start. *sigh* ..... I bought an item that I had HOPED was a gun (the only thing I could afford) and turns out it was just bullets. *sob* ...

So I am playing FF2. Its the psp remake one. The game goes "You don't learn lvls in the traditonal way". So I unarm every one and make martial artists that use magic. Because you gain stats by attacking or what not. Sell all weapons by best armor.

*mutters* started trying to "cheat" with the save state but discovered that in all honesty... there's not much that it can even do. Either you are going to get the demon, or you have shit for luck.
Speaking of which, do any of these stats affect negotiation?
edit: looked it up.... FUCK... it's intelligence... you know, I shoulda just seen that coming, and of course obviously since I thought "oh, hero doesn't have spells" I ignored Magic and Intelligence - not awfully since magic defense but FUCK MY LIFE >_< GAH!! You know, why don't I learn to look these things up BEFORE hand.

Mapper is really useful. So are the guns. Especially with Nerve/Charming Bullets, which will break the game.
I say go for save states, since later dungeons become more complex. And don't worry about conversations, just raise your Luck stat for it become more successful.
And yeah...don't raise the Hero's MAG and INT stats.
