Re: Games you are playing
I'm still waiting for a game that will make a 3DS a must-have. Likewise for a PSVita, but that will happen as soon as Class Of Heroes 2 comes out.

Re: Games you are playing
New ME3 Multiplayer stuff is pretty neat. A riot-shotgun is the only weapon I care about, but the classes are all charming:
A mini-mech.
An engie with an ammo/grenades-dispenser.
A weirdo Nightcrawlery spook that explodes a lot.
A Paladin with a shield and all three elements. He can be used as cover for gunny classes. :3
A stealthy, super-mobile ninja with intense backstabbing-action.
And a bulky Nightcrawler with fastpaced BAMFstabbing-action and a powerful Ironman exhaust-gun. :3

Re: Games you are playing
A friend of mine was playing Eden Eternal, and knew I was pretty good at MMOs and needed help. XD So, I'm helping her by basically grinding to be seven levels higher than her.
So, Eden Eternal isn't a bad game--it's free. The presentation is alright. Alpacas. The class system feels like it's very easy to break, though. I'm making my character a Blade Dancer, later, so I'm just putting knowledge points into stuff that would raise my stats every level (namely offense--crit, ATK, and ACC). My gripe is that I want to help my friend who I want to give my cloth armor junk to (she's playing healer, and the game keeps dropping the wrong armor for me) and I apparently can't trade until level 30. =_=
That and this game feels like it is very easy to solo. Not only do you have the option to solo dungeons, but not take EXP or Drops from it, but just doing the dungeon normally (the monsters are tougher) are easy to exploit. That or I'm just too good at pulling enemies.
This brings me to the last point... Death is so forgiving. You die in a dungeon and go back inside? All the monsters you killed are still dead, unless you reset the dungeon yourself. No EXP penalty either. I find myself dying just to teleport, when my teleport thingy is recharging. xD Tactical suicides.

Re: Games you are playing
2 days until GW2 beta event! =D
Speaking about being forgiving of death, GW2 is very much so. Which isn't really such a bad thing when you consider their design philosophy... and the fact that the game will kick your teeth in every 45 minutes (much more often in dungeons, I hear).
It's death system is similar to Borderlands or Left 4 Dead, if that makes any sense to you guys.

Re: Games you are playing
Yeah, Gravity Rush is about the only game so far for either system that I'd like to play. Not so badly though that it can't wait until there's more than one game for the PSVita.

Re: Games you are playing
The Vita situation is relatively dire but it's also still early in the life. It probably doesn't help that there's still more and more PSP announcements (all the Summon Night games just got announced for it, for instance).

Re: Games you are playing
Yes, I saw that earlier on ANN. The Summon Night games are all strategy games though, right? That's not my genre. I loved the Summon Night Swordcraft Story games though. They were great. I wish they'd translate the third game from that series. Summon Night Twin Age was also a nice RPG.

Punching people is very romantic, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

Re: Games you are playing
No, it's where when you lose all your HP, you do into a downed state where:
1) You are dying.
2) You can attack, albeit your ability to do so is significantly hindered.
3) Killing an enemy when downed rallies you. (L4D didn't have this part)
4) Other players can revive you. Any other players. Period. Well, except your enemies. (not sure Borderlands had this one)
The following only applies to GW2:
You NEED to be careful after your rally, otherwise you WILL just die again. The amount of health you rally at is dependent upon how much Death Penalty (I think that's what it's called) you have, but even without any you're still pretty fragile. Death Penalty stacks up to three times, each stack taking 5-10 minutes to fade, I think? If you get downed with all three stacks, one random piece of armor gets damaged (this does nothing by itself). If you are STILL getting downed when all your armor is damaged, a random piece will break. (Repairing damaged or broken armor costs money, damaged more so.)
So really, you have to reach 0 HP at least 4 times is the span of an hour before the game starts "punishing" you. This will happen. Fairly frequently. Seriously, this game has a near-Etrian level of difficulty.
So much fun. =3

Re: Games you are playing
...I still remember Prophecies being a nightmare for me in the original. XD The final mission had a party with our monk who was getting the Survival titles (she had not died ONCE in her whole time as her character). At the end of the mission, she had all of this Morale boost... XD I had a 25% Death Penalty (it stacked 3 times back then, that's just what the Death Penalty did though--lowered HP and MP).
How about the Henchmen? Are they at least competant enough to be considered, or are we going to have to hope for more Heroes?
