Somehow, I think they'd use that on Nintendo before they'd use it on DnD.
Persona 4: 6th dungeon cleared. Almost done...!

Persona 4: This social link system is officially worse than 3's. Consider this spoilers for the end (I'm not specific), or a pre-warning when you get to this point.
Re: Games you are playing
To be fair, Persona 4 has a lot more leeway in general for S.Links.
Re: Games you are playing
Finished Oath in Felghana on Hard modo. That marks my 4th playthrough of the game. Not sure about Nightmare and Inferno modo.

Re: Games you are playing
That's better than my first playthrough where I only maxed out one....
no seriously...
one.
The key is ALWAYS BRING A PERSON TYPE TO THE PARTY. o_O;; That woulda helped. A lot.
My second (undone) playthrough was going very well. I was very religious to the team members.
Anyways, as for the fox. ?? I never understood why so many people have problems with him. First off: the fox is a SP healer. Do not visit the fox with low health. There is no point. Use your MC to heal EVERYONE and then UNTEAM THEM (or was that in p3p? I can't remember if it gives the option to only heal just your MC). Then fox-heal yourself only. I don't know about anyone else's run throughs but my magic was the only one that was ever in danger of truly running out. Once the MC is out, you're fucked.
Do NOT fox-heal Chie. NEVER. The fox is a sp healer. Chie rarely uses her magic.
If you think a character needs it, heal only one character. This should be more than enough. Fox-heal everyone to do mini-bosses when needed.
Also, as for time spent on dungeon runs: I gave myself three days. First day: get to the top and unlock weaponry. Buy what you can but always leave money for fox-healing. Don't buy too much here or worry about getting best equipment. Second day: Take on the boss - get defeated - then level up what you need to. This is "level up day". It is also when you should be careful with money and are farming for items and gold. I say farm for items cuz money is usually spent for fox-healing. When you leave then you can worry about purchasing best stuff. Third day: Take on the boss. This can take part on the second day if you think you can manage it. I say, though, to leave the boss for another day so that way you do not have to waste even more gold on fox-healing.
Also: get Spirit Drain as soon as you can. Even if it's on a fucking weak persona. Just drain the living shit out of low level enemies to boost up your SP. This takes care of unnecessary fox healing as well.

First time I played P4, I let my allies be computer-controlled. Managed to get as far as beating 's shadow. Don't know if I've played it since, actually...

Did Atlus ever include Life Drain / Meditation after Nocturne?

Re: Games you are playing
I enjoyed the ai-control from P3. It was original and the battles were faster and there was a certain difficulty. P4 and P3P were made around and under the assumption that the player would control them. Which seriously disappointed me.
In both games I let the the ai control during normal fights but turned on control for bosses. Except in P3P where I got pissed off that later in the game the ai had been reformed and for some reason that mean that they RARELY used the stronger group attacks. I got pissed off and put it down and never picked it back up (I did but didn't get far again after restarting the game).
<_< I think I'm one of the few people who really truly enjoyed the P3 solo-control

Re: Games you are playing
I didn't mind it when i was playing P3/FES since the AI was usually smart most of the time but for P4 i was happy with controlling my party instead of playing around with the (what was the thing called..to make ur party do certain things...whatever)
Then again even with the ability to control ur party or not...the MC dies...game over even though i can make them use items/recarm :L. In Nocturne, it makes sense, in P4...it really doesn't

Re: Games you are playing
I'd prefer control in P4. People just seem less cookie cutter in 4 than 3. I used Yosuke as a Confuse bot for a while.
Especially Naoto. Either I got him Mind Charge>Megidolaon, or making use of Mudo/Hama skills. Had a combo going at one point where Yosuke Magarudyned everything then Naoto cleaned up with Megidola.
