The fact that Auto-attack is a Ranger's best mode of damage is pretty much disheartening. Barrage is great for taking out multiple enmis, but in dungeons we are more a liability than a help. We have to have our pets avoid combat, but because our damage is shared between us, our characters are not doing as much damage as they could. I love rangers, but it feels like being close-range is more practical, when you're not using a short bow.

The worst part is that you can't take advantage of the terrain. AT ALL. And if you do, monsters are invulenrable for longer than it takes you to come down and fight them. Isn't the point of being a ranger being out of reach? xD If the monster can't reach you, just have them run away and try pulling the player. If the player follows and decides to go back up to their perch, they have to get up there all over again.

And that's Mesmers who summon clones.

Which brings me to another aspect of this game: No class specific armor. ...why? It would not hurt, I think. We have Cultural pieces--I wish they could be used by all races. I'd love to have a human wearing norn armor. XD

That's only part of it. Pets do go down way too easily against any damage and can't hit on the move. So, if we have a moving enemy, a ranger loses their pets SOLE use. Hyena is the only useful pet I've found because it is like a Hounds of Balthazar-lite. And I tend to switch to it so I can summon both the other Hyena and the Hounds at the same time.

Watching your enemy literally getting dogpiled is hilarious. XD

There's no best class in GW2, but Rangers definitely got the shaft. Elementalists are just hard to get used to. Thieves are complete offense and have a FEW broken combos that give you no reaction time before your knocked down.

^ Some of the pets are white mages, though. Maybe those are more useful.
I just noticed you can get 2 seconds of Quickness without drawbacks once every 16 seconds by swapping pets. That slows down a lot if one of the pets is defeated, but free Quickness so often has to be worth something.

It also makes me happy that axes are mostly ranged weapons for Rangers. Even though they're shotgun-type, so they do better up close.

Oh, hey, a Signet that can make the pet & Ranger "large".

Honestly, Arah actually renewed my hopes in the Ranger class and enjoying dungeons. Before it, I just redid my traits and I felt so much more helpful.

I bought the Pact Needler(Shortbow), and the loot made me eat my words, when I suddenly got Mhenlo's leggings... Brother Mhenlo~

So, I made a Sylvari Mesmer to put my exotic pistol to use, once I get to level 78.

Elementalists are super-versatile. But with great diversity comes great Multiple Attribute Disorder.

Ride The Lightning is the tops, in any case.

Ride the Lightning is awesome, but Ky's coconuts are even better.
