Eh, I like a bit of challenge, but Lunatic feels a bit too much for me, so I went with hard. It feels slow already with me worrying about inheritance, reclassing for skills, and whatnot. It's actually been fine now, I can actually take on the Risen on the map, and there's the DLC maps if I ever need to grind (yay getting random items forever).

Chrom is well, super strong mostly because he's got the only non-breakable weapon that so happens to be strong against dragons.

Avatar doubles everything now, his weakness of RES is apparently non-existant and I just had to promote him to Grandmaster.

Donnel is doing pretty fine, sucks that he for whatever reason, has to go swords (come on, I love using soldiers/halberdiers!).

I never realized Lissa was scary until I made her into a battle nun and she laughed at attacks.

I did like the "to recruit Donnel, level him on the map he's in" objective, but it seems most of the objectives at this point is just "Rout the Enemy!" and maybe protect a green unit or two.

Really? Lunatic was challenging up until they gave me the Preparation screen. The only reason why I had trouble before that is because the game just throws all this dead weight at you with poor footing and 90% of your roster will die in one round. I had to formulate a way that Frederick can distract everyone while hiding those that will die behind those who are not going to get doubled.

Not sure how I feel about it. Basically, you have to pair people up to survive Lunatic Mode, which is fine because working together is something that should be encouraged... But then characters become too powerful. Perhaps the system provides too much? Hard to say, since eventually I will be fighting enemies I do not grossly outlevel (even though I have only done the DLC maps once each).

Path of Radiance had Maniac difficulty (Japanese version, anyway), which in my opinion, offered much better difficulty. Instead of just stronger enemies, you get sort of stronger enemies, but much more of them, with much less XP. The developer actually went through each map and tailored the enemies in Maniac mode with specific challenges in mind.

In any event, even if Lunatic mode could have been better designed, everything else is too easy to keep me interested. Lunatic+ will probably just be luck-based difficulty, so I will probably end up playing on Lunatic again in the future.

I'd just like to say, playing L4D2 with gore on high is so much different than low like I usually play. It's not just more blood, limbs fly farther and you can see more innards. Neat.

I went with a female avatar , I didn't know chrom would automarry his highest romantic support, so I had to redo that chapter after he married my avatar, ruining my plans. I just stuck him with Sumia, because why not, also galeforce, galeforce for everyone.

I'm just playing on normal/classic, since it's been a few years since I last touched a fire emblem game (having last played when Path of Radiance first came out, which looking up its release date, is much longer ago than I remembered)




Also, I am playing Beyond Good & Evil.

I did not think Galeforce was that good. What's the rush?

Not that it is bad, either. I will definitely have it on , and maybe my Avatar, but I will pass it up on others since there will scarcely be a time where I will have to apply it. I will say that it would work out rather nicely on a Sniper, though. I will see if I can work one in somewhere.

Also, anyone else bothered by how this game has no first gen Knight?

I just like being a relentless wave of destruction that speeds across the battlefield by KILLING.

Mainly being able to kill an enemy unit and use a vulnerary or something or move onto a better terrian is nice.

Also, I wish mounted units could still move again after performing non-combat actions.

Yeah. That's my idea with it. Give it Swordmasters... a class I have never really liked much prior. They, like the Fighter, are a push class. They usually only expose themselves to one enemy (or multiple axe-wielders in the case of Swordmasters) at a time, as they specialized in a solitary, confined engagement. Now, if all works out well, they will be able to pick off key targets and retreat back for healing in one turn, or pull me through unexpected reinforcements. Never really liked anything that relies on RNG to be good, but at least now I can take into account the possibility of them receiving injury.

The problem with Canto is it makes the characters hard to balance. Either you have Canto and you have to make them weaker to compensate, or you don't have Canto and they have generally comparable stats to everyone else. I will admit it was nice for Bow Knights. :/

Also, I am convinced Chrom has spent a small amount of coin from the royal Yllissean treasury to hire a team of wind mages to follow him around and activate their powers whenever he pulls his sword from the ground.

EDIT: scratch that one of the side quest areas have killing edges sold so uh yeah everyone who uses a sword has one and i still have enough to fully forge them and that was just one play through the map
