^ Drives work, so Squall should if it's consistent.

If anyone praises a game design that involves reinforcements appearing and acting on the same turn (not mention several turns after everything but the boss is dead), you will be deported to the most isolated corner of Antarctica to think about what you just said.

Are they all flying, and have Luna+?
At the very least, they generally do say that some will come, and sometimes where they'll be.
Redoing my simple hard/classic run. I'm trying to now just pair people with chemistry (or pies like SumiaxChrom). Kinda hard for some, and unfortunately Lon'Qu and Cordelia seem pretty comparable (and I've done it twice already...)

I have two sore spots thus far where I felt the game was not fair.
Ch 16. It spawns three Falcon Knights on each side, six in total. They have 8 Mov and enough speed to double your healers. A few of them also carry Spears, and the map is only 17 tiles wide. The game warned me of reinforcements and I made a defensive formation with my healers in the centre, but they still ORKO'd Lissa. Sorry, but I cannot at all see this as anything other than a memory game.
Severa's paralogue is the second incident. Several turns after the boss was defeated, enemies spawned after I had recruited her. Yeah, I anticipated enemies would come up from the stairs, but a Sage that could double my new non-promoted recruit for twice her life over is a bit much. I even anticipated this possibility, had her run away, used a Master Seal to promote and healed her, but she still died.
It is never, ever going to be a good game design. I rather risk the player getting free shots on reinforcements before they can act than throwing something as volatile or deadly as Archers and flying units with sometimes vague details of where they will appear. Either that or maybe we can get some kind of warning graphic? Like a red outline on the side of the screen or around the tiles they will appear from? I don't know.
As for my progress, I am still recruiting my children characters before I carry on. If I could have done something different, I would have married Chrom to Sumia. I'll put it this way: right now I have more options for Lucina than I know what to do with. Having Aether and Ignis feels like tying spears to a rifle. Yeah, it adds to its lethality, but it is a bit excessive. Cynthia could really benefit from Chrom's genes.
That said, after I finish all the paralogues, I might book it for a cleared file just to finally complete the story, and begin yet another file after that in preparation for future DLC. The game has never lost its lustre even after beginning for the fourth time. A real shame, too, because I have both Kid Icarus: Uprising and Etrian Odyssey IV to see to.
I am not used to having a back-log of games... Like ever.

Funny, only games I actually feel like playing as well. Granted, all of my consoles are DEEEEEEEEAD and so a backlog of games for PS3 and PS2 can never be. Also I am still pissed that my EOIV preorder was canceled. And Kid Icarus makes my wrists sore when I just look at the controls.
And yeah, if you're referring to that tree chapter, I wasn't really expecting fliers to come from the sides.
Man, for it's flaws, FE: Awakening is still a enjoyable experience. Kinda wish there was a easy way to grind supports for the log though, and maybe not make me save to record them; I already have my min-max lunatic team file, and two makes it so it'll be a time-waster.

I started playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance last night. Silly name aside, it's a lot of fun. It has flavors of Bayonetta/Devil May Cry mashed together with Vanquish and set in the Metal Gear world.
Slicing, dicing, eviscerating, and decapitating at a fluid 60 frames per second? Yes please.
According to the in-game counter, I cut a man into 40 pieces before he hit the ground. Oooh, I like.

Yeah, that. I had heard the controls were swapped around from the SNES original, jump and inhale specifically.
