Considering switching back to long swords. Doing better than swaxes, at least. Still working on a 6* bow set before I go after Rathian.

So like, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen was out 2 days ago... and no one told me. I want to say I'm playing it now, but I'm pretty short on cash and will have wait for two weeks until I have enough... depressing.

... On the other hand, I am replaying Dragon's Dogma because of it. Running a Ranger this time around. Its pretty great, except that you move slow as hell when your longbow is drawn. Still, the damage they deal is amazing, and I can actually kill Metal Golems now.

Also my main pawn is still a Strider... though she's usually at the bottom of the ocean in all my runs so I don't really consider her all that important.

^ Autonomy?

I never restart to change class. It's not even the faster way.

^ Character's Strength and Magic are kind of mediocre with later weapons, no matter how you level. That gap has increased with Dark Arisen. Not only because of new equipment. Some old weapons have been buffed, as well.
The only stats that are difficult to raise without minding your character-levels are Health and Stamina.

As for challenge, Dark Arisen helps with that, too. Original hardmode is interesting because it doesn't turn anything into a damage-sponge. It nerfs your own Health and Stamina instead.

Dark Arisen is fairly fun. I took my level 135 character into it and, once they introduced some of the newer creatures, I found that I could actually die in a split-second. Some of them hit for close to 1500 damage. That's fantastic news, to me, because I was worried I was going to coast through the new content.

On the bright side, I can still down even the toughest of mobs in a few seconds if I can get up to their head. Dire Gouge + >3000 attack + headshot damage = total annihilation.

^ I wonder if Gouge has any new buffs. It used to have a disadvantage on some enemies against Hundred Kisses hitting more than one targetarea.

^ Thing is, people would climb to a shoulder or something and hit arms, heads and torsos at the same time, or multiple Ur-hearts. Gouge is usually too narrow for anything like that.

I just learned the last 2 quests in Moga are both G-rank strength. Not health, but one is 3 tough monsters, and the other is Alatreon.

Considering I suck, I have a reason to farm stuff from G-rank now.

^ Yeah, it's more versatile, but that it can deal more damage is the counterintuitive part.

Still trying to play at least one round of Panel de Pon a day. I picked up Puzzle League Express from the online Nintendo store thingy. What a piece of shit. It is just so unremarkably slow paced and there is no way to speed it up to a fraction of the SNES. Not to mention they picked the absolutely worst possible graphics and sounds effects upon combination of panels... it just takes away much of the satisfaction.

Etrian Odyssey IV is great. Definitely my favourite entry in the series thus far, taking the throne from the first. Great gameplay (best class design, systems, pacing, etc.) a story I actually enjoy for once and the first time where the soundtrack is actually better than the super arrange follow up. The tracks for the first, second and fifth strati are rather beautiful, honestly. I fully intend to finish this, which will make it the first Etrian Odyssey that I play through to the end. Got to say though, that the quests kind of suck later on, and the designs for the third and fourth strati are not quite to my liking. I just find it kind of ugly to look at. The whole theme of being relatively modernized buildings was cool, but the novelty is ruined after you have gone through map after map of libraries. Maybe some desks or furniture could have spruced things up.

Um... I play Planetside2 from time to time. Strange as it sounds, I don't have fun at all, but I like the game design a lot. Really nothing else like it. I have seen war in MMOs from time to time, but this really looks much more like it, and it is happening all over the virtual world.

I have a Fire Emblem: Awakening file going, still. For some reason the game is awfully more strategic this time around... Less mindless. I hope this holds together after I have begun baby-making.

Play testing stuff here and there as well. Nothing I can mention. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
