*mutters* well, that was damn bullshit. The other night I spent around two hours playing L4D.

Today I spent maybe 45 minutes playing L4D2. Suddenly the game crashes and my computer kinda freezes and I think it was shutting down before I just finally killed it myself by holding in the button.

o_O Baffled, I reach over to my computer and my left hand grazed the vent and I realized O_O my computer was hot. Either the game crashed or I have an overheating problem... which even if the game did crash, my computer should not be that hot. It didn't get hot with L4D.

:\ *sigh* ... I kinda blindly adjusted video settings... dunno really what the hell anything does, but I turned most of it down by one. Hopefully there will be an improvement, but I'm letting my computer rest for right now. I'll play some more later and pay attention to the overheating this time.

I know all about laptop pains. Mine's about five years old and somehow manages to chug along at ~15 FPS while playing TF2/L4D 1.

Well, I didn't get my computer for gameplay. It was/is for work. So for web designing, it's a beautiful machine and I knew that a laptop is not a gameplaying machine. Regrets: none.

My baby is only about two years old now. She treats me well. No complaints.

Turning down the graphics seems to have helped a great deal. Some heat - about what I would expect, and localized only around the vent. Nothing like the full computer death heat from earlier where even the bottom of the computer and the desk it was sitting on was extremely hot.

To be sure, I turned everything down even lower. ... To be honest... I see no change in graphics quality? None that my eyes are picking up. And it's not like I'm playing this game for the visuals to begin with. The only MAJOR thing I noticed that seems to be missing: the on-screen bloodsplatter. My opinion: THANK GOD!! I HATE that effect. At least I hope it's gone. I didn't notice any - but it's not like I had a machete or chainsaw this round. So, still remains to be seen.

In-game note: the last round of the campaign (filling the car with gas) was MUCH too long and not really fun when you don't have another human companion. .... *sigh* -_-; Actually, it was downright annoying. F-ing four Tanks attacked me before I was done. Thank God I chose the shot gun.

Bought Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes because it looked interesting. I don't play a lot of civilization games, but I opted out of Civ 5's sale too late, and apparently it isn't all that great until you get the expansions. Maybe Christmas.

Ha ha. I understand.

What the video doesn't show is they copied the original guidebook that came with EarthBound back in 1995 and will have it on the Internet optimized for viewing on the Wii U gamepad thing. Aside from the lack of scratch-and-sniff I thought that was pretty cool.

They didn't mention it in the Mini Direct, but where they able to keep all of the music? I know a ton of people mentioned that the music might have been a reason as to why they couldn't resell Earthbound. Like New Age Retro Hippie and such.

From what I know, all is slated to change are some graphical modifications for a few of the PK effects, to reduce the amount of flashing. This happened with the Japanese release, and this is a standard change for all Virtual Console games apparently. We can't actually download the NA release until later today so we won't know if they changed the music, from what I heard it turned out not to be an issue.

Rockin' K.K. is still in Animal Crossing, which is a midi extracted directly from Mother, which of course is inspired by Johnny B. Goode.
